Awesome experience with a very knowledgeable host and a cool little space and a good price point. Highly recommend this, especially if you're relatively inexperienced with tasting wine. The hostess running the event was friendly and welcoming, and the space was the right size for a group of about 6-8 people in total. We had some charcuterie and cheese in addition to our wine, which added to the experience, and the overall session was exactly the right length to be fun and informative without dragging. Booking was easy and the staff managing things were friendly.

Excellent wine experience! We learned a lot about the various regions near Lyon, the types of wines made in each region, the flavor profiles of the wines, and things to look for when buying wines. In addition to all of the information, our guide was fun, personable, and charismatic. The wines we tried were excellent and the charcuterie was great. Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about wine and meet some other travelers along the way.

We had a lovely wine tasting! Our host had a lot of knowledge about wines and she could answer to all our questions. We learned so many new things. Also cheese and olives etc were delicious. We would recommend this tasting!

Our wine specialist was friendly, warm and knowledgeable about wine & the tastings we did. She taught us three important ways to experience & evaluate wine. She made it fun to experience the wines. The cheeses she provided were a good compliment to the wine tastes. I was a bit disappointed in the few offerings with the wine as opposed to what was pictured for the tour.. There were no nuts or fruits , only a few olives. We found these offerings did not meet expectations for the cost we paid for the tasting.

Madeleine is a great communicator. She knows her wine and is skilled at making the task of wine- tasting quite entertaining and yet structured. We learnt how to look, smell and taste wine in a sequence and it greatly enhanced the wine appreciation. The wines were from different regions around Lyon. And yet we could catch a bus right to her doorstep in Lyon and not have to travel far. Also her chosen wines were quality and representative of many regions. And she knows her stuff. Really enjoyed it and highly recommend it to others.

When looking for the address, look for a large ornate dark wooden door that has a 19 over it ( the 12 is faded out and looks more like 19). Was tricky to figure out because then you walk up dark staircase to second floor, and knock on door that says C. Connor. That’s where the host opens the door to a cool loft apartment that was once used for silk weaving. Nice presentation Sitting around a coffee table learning about and sipping tasty sparkling wine. Then we sat at a long table set up with various wines and light cheese board and rosette sausage provided! Good representation of 4 regional wine ( 2 whites, 2 reds) to try. A lot of info provided and recommendations given upon request while visiting other places around Lyon. We had a very curious and conversational group. A well spent 2.5 hours.

We have Madeline (I’m horrible with names) and she was 10/10. Knowledgeable, funny and was able to answer every question. 90% of the tasting is the instructor with the last 10% being the people who are also in the class and maybe we lucked out but it was a great time, full of laughs and was worth it. Food was phenomenal, great snacks and the wine was delicious. Not snobby at all and lots of learning about French wines. Would recommend to anyone who has the time!

Sitting in an apartment with a small group of people from around the world made the wine tasting a very convivial experience. The Host was knowledgeable and helped bring the wines to life. All round, a great experience.
