2.00The driver smelled really strongly of alcohol and drove reckless. We told him to drive more carefully to which he did after we asked him but we were very uncomfortable during this ride.

1.00Today, I did the Kazbegi & Gudauri ‘tour’. I paid (a lot) more than just taking the transfer from Tbilisi to Kazbegi as I was looking forward to the stops along to way to learn more about Georgia, the highway and the stops themselves. Disappointingly, at each stop, Alex, our ‘guide’ basically gave one or two sentences and then told us what time to meet back together. What he told me I could read in my guidebook. Also, the WhatsApp message we received the night before told us that on top of the price we already paid, the taxi to the church would be 10gel pp (60 gel per vehicle). This was inaccurate as it was 90gel per vehicle. I would not recommend.

2.00This was a transfer, but it was part of a tour. The description did not mention it was part of a tour and made it sound direct. The description said I would arrive after ~3 hours. I thought ok, maybe 12, 12:30 with traffic. I had an obligation at 13:00. I did not arrive until 14:20, missing my obligation (which came with financial complications). I gave this 2 stars and not 1 because the tour guide was very kind, and the driver was nice. I hate leaving bad reviews, I really do, but if you’re looking for something direct I would not recommend this option.

5.00Wow, what a very lovely trip! Out guide (Lasha) was charming, knowledgeable, and a safe driver. We saw beautiful sights and got to learn so much about Georgian history. I’d highly recommend this trip for solo travels as the Budget Georgia guides are so interactive during the tour it’s makes it seem as if you know your group mates.
