Our operations start around 8.00 a.m. and go until 4.30 p.m. Between those times, you can come and take your tour. Also, one tour normally takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour to complete.
When taking the plantation tour, you must participate in the tea-picking session. Before the session, we performed the customary worship of Lord Ganesh at a small kovil close to the plantation.
You will also receive your basket to harvest tea, as well as a small mottu. If you decide to take part in the tea plucking activity, you could perhaps wear the customary tea plucker attire of a wraparound saree or sarong.
Relax amidst the breathtaking views of endless greenery, tea estates, and surrounding countryside at our Sky Café from a mountain top of 300m above ground/1300m above sea level.
Indulge in a unique tea-tasting experience and discover how and why Ceylon tea comes in different grades and flavors to suit diverse palettes worldwide.

This was such an enjoyable experience with an excellent and most informative talk by Sallay followed by some tea picking and tea tasting. He kept it interesting throughout and all of our group really enjoyed themselves. It was definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Ella. I would recommend going early in the morning before it gets too hot (and too busy) and definitely do the factory tour as well afterwards as this completes the whole story of the tea making process.

This was a lovely experience, despite the torrential downpour that halted it halfway through, as is typical in Sri Lanka! I really enjoyed learning about the history of the tea trade in the country, before getting dressed up in traditional tea picking wear, and getting the opportunity to learn how to pluck fresh tea leaves. The tasting in the factory shop afterwards was short, but enjoyable nonetheless, as we got to try different varieties of tea.

It was a great and enjoyable experience learning about the daily life in production of tea! Even the tea tasting was interesting 😊

It was good, not the best experience on Sri Lanka nor the most authentic. The explanation was really interesting and the taste was ok, compared to other tours we did on Sri Lanka the prize was acceptable and the relation quality-prize as well.

There’s no time specified but they have tours every 30 minutes. Instead of waiting for the next tour they threw me into one that had already started. This meant that i got about 5 minutes of explanation and then gave me a basket and told me to start picking. It was still an interesting experience and i enjoyed it. Note that the outfit is not included in the price it’s an extra $6. The women who helped me were so kind and gentle. There is also an option for the factory that is another $10 that i did not partake in. At the end of the tour there is a tea tasting. I was the only one from the whole group that stayed to do it and i felt they were a bit rude to me. It’s a cheap tour and I still felt it was worth it. It makes you feel a bit more appreciative of your tea after being apart of the work that goes into it.
