What To Expect

Mala Pevnost (Small Fortress)

You will get a tour of Terezín's Small Fortress, which used to be a gestapo prison during WWII. Your guide will explain you when and why the fortress was built and how Nazi regime used it to prosecute political prisoners. You'll see the conditions people lived in and see original video footage from the WWII depicting "ideal" life of people in Terezín.

Fantastic tour of Terezín with Jack. It was just the 2 of us and Jack on the tour and from the moment we met him he made us feel at ease and comfortable. His knowledge of Terezín is second to none and he's very passionate about getting the story of Terezín across and not just about dates and timelines. Jack went above and beyond for us on the tour, even sorting us a ride to one of sections that was closed in the morning. His passion for his country shone through all day and it was lovely to get to meet him and hear his stories. Highly recommend this tour with Jack and hopefully if we return we would definitely seek out other tours with Jack

Our guide Honza (Jack) went above and beyond to make this tour come to life. He not only shared the history, but also had moving and interesting stories. He was extremely knowledgeable and was eager to explain Czech culture and history as well. He took a real interest in those of us on the tour and made the tour personal whenever he could. (He even introduced us to Kofola - a lovely soft drink we had never had before!) We cannot recommend him highly enough!

Jack was the best guide one could ever ask for. He was so informative and personable. He even helped for matters well outside the tour. We learned so much about this tragic and misunderstood place. The fort system was fascinating, the town so misunderstood, and the prison system seamed haunting. It's a lot to absorb.

You cannot beat the tour with Jack! He is very knowledgeable on subject matter at hand. We had a train delay but he kept right on giving information and telling stories. The tour was excellent! Recommend Jack highly for this tour.

We had a great day with Honza(Jack) traveling from Prague to Terezin. He was so knowledgeable and eager to share so much history with us. He was super organized, taking us on trains and busses with perfect timing. He came equipped with photos and stories making the travel time a perfect time for providing information. He shared a lot about his personal life, giving us great insight to life in the region. Terezin Fortress was an incredible work of engineering and I learned so much more than WWII history on this tour. Thank you, Jack, for a day we'll spent and an unforgettable experience!

Our day at Terezin with Honza(Jack) made for an unforgettable experience from the minute we met. Even before we reached the train to Terezin the story was explained as if we were there. His knowledge of the stories and history of Terezin as a fortress as well as a concentration camp was unmatched and was able to make us feel what it was actually like during that time. We enjoyed our time with him and made us feel that he was more than a guide but a friend as well.

This has been a very special and informative day for us. Jack has gone out of his way to provide a very personalised experience. He is a very interesting person in his own right and, besides the tour basics we had several good conversations. It meant a lot to me because of a family connection I have with the ghetto.
A sensitively delivered, informative day which proved to be excellent value for money.

Our guide was Honza. We were a small group which was really nice. Honza was knowledgeable, engaging, enthusiastic, attentive and respectful. It was obvious that he enjoys his job. He paid close attention to detail and gave us lots of interesting statistics about the Czech Republic, its history and its people. We travelled via train, bus and underground which was all included in the cost and well coordinated to give continuity throughout the tour. The fortress and camp are historically fascinating and this tour is great value for money. It takes a whole day and the only cost not included was lunch. Honza took us to a very reasonable lunch venue with a choice of local food. Very informative day and highly recommended ( and YES Mrs Honza - he is a nice guy!!!😆).

Met by Jack and straight away felt at ease on this very interesting and informative trip. The added bonus to us was that it felt like being on a personal tour. Right from the start Honza/Jack was very knowledgeable and could answer many of our questions about the trip and topics. We particularly liked the resources he brought with him to enhance our experience. His knowledge of English was exceptional and enthusiasm made this a very memorable trip. I would highly recommend.
