We did the 3:30 tour with Manny and have recommended our family coming in November book the same tour. The restaurant and food selections were perfect. It’s a great variety and you are given alternative choices if something doesn’t appeal to you. The restaurants range from old & established to a couple years new. Manny is an excellent host. Besides learning about the food you eat, you also learn about the area and history. The tour is in the Versalles area which is outside the downtown PV area. At first, I thought I had made a mistake. But it turned out to be a bonus. It got us a little ways out of the touristy area. Each of the hosts at the restaurants were welcoming and Manny shared interesting information about their back stories.

Our walking food tour in the neighborhood of Versalles was great and so filling. Our guide, Roman, did a fantastic job explaining all the different foods and culture that we experienced. He’s a natural at informing us of how they make each dish and where it originated from, since he’s also a chef. We got to try birria, torta, shrimp al pastor taco, barbacoa, and desserts. He was also accommodating and brought us to one of his favorite coffee shops at our request. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a taste of what delicious foods Puerto Vallarta has to offer.

Our guide Roman did a great job of sharing his knowledge and love of the food scene in Versalles. His culinary background and charming personality made for a wonderful afternoon. And the food was amazing.

Manny and Roman are both really great, down to earth guys. Our tour was just our group of four so it felt less like a packaged tour than just visiting friends who took us out for the evening to show us around a really cool neighborhood in their city. We are very familiar with the Zona Romantica and 5th de Deciembre so we chose the Versailles option. All of the stops were great. The food was outstanding. Thanks again, guys for spending so much time with us and a wonderful evening.

Manny was fun! He does ask if there are any food allergies or specific foods to stay away from (I don’t do fish or seafood) We had 5 taco stops and then dessert. I was so full!!!! I couldn’t eat it all (made sure to at least try the meats) but luckily the vendors aren’t disappointed as they know we are on a food tour. But it was all great! If I had to choose…. Hmmm. I think the Birria was amazing! We had chorizo (they made there own tortillas in front of you) we learned what valcanoes were (the food, not nature 🤣) Goat and beef birria. The restaurant is named after the owner’s Tio. The recipes are his uncle’s. Amazing!!! Carnitas. You can choose from all meat, some skin, some rib meat. Each stand also has fresh sauces/salsas and toppings of some sort! Arrachera (and the owner did deliveries before uber eats was ever a thing) saw the owner who made the meats. Super sweet nice man! To see Manny’s interaction with the vendors and seemed to have a good repot with them is fun too. They use blue corn tortillas (homemade) El Rey was the last taco stop. Owned by a man from Oklahoma who smokes his own pork tacos. Definitely had a fusion of Mexico and Oklahoma style bbq. It was beautiful! However this is also a bar and if you TRULY like APPRECIATE tequila, he has a respectful offering of legit tequila, mezcal, sotol and raicilla. Last we stopped to get dessert. There is always room for dessert. I guess you can call them frozen pies. It’s as if some cheesecake and ice cream and something else had a baby. They were perfection on sweet and flavorful! But…if they have Flan, do that too!!!!! Best flan we have ever had in our life!!!!! We did get some laughs in, too. cool dude. I’m going to try to post photos of each stop. We now know a bit about versalles area so we can’t wait to go back!

You can’t get a better tour than this! The guide, Manny, is the absolute best because of his knowledge, his English and over the top personality. The food was amazing and we ate a couple of tacos that we would have normally not ordered in a restaurant. Delicious! We took photos of the places we ate at and will DEFINITELY go back to each and every one of them. Oh, and the last stop was for dessert. Over the top!!!!! Thank you Manny and thanks for the hug at the end of the tour.

Versalles is an amazing neighbourhood! It is teaming with outstanding restaurants frequented by locals and travelers in the know. Our guide Manny was fantastic. He provided in-depth history and cultural insight that made us fall in love with life in this bario. Do yourself a favour and sign-up to do this tour at the beginning of your time in PV so that you can go back to the area and immerse yourself over the remainder of your time in this beautiful place.

We went on the evening tour and it was one of the highlights of our trip! We weren’t happy with the food at the all inclusive resort we were staying at so we decided to go on a food tour. I’m so glad we did! Manny was an awesome guide and led us to so many great restaurants and was good at explaining the food and area on the way. We were stuffed at the end of the tour so go hungry! We even went back to one of the restaurants we visited the next day because the food was so good! Our kids enjoyed the tour and food as well and they aren’t the most adventurous with food. Fun experience! Highly recommend!
