Senglea is one of the most densely populated parts of Malta – and where there’s people, there are dark tales to be told.

Within the city’s atmospheric streets there have been gruesome murders and a miraculous Madonna.

Strange thefts have occurred from the parish church, which was built by an architect who liked talking to the dead.

Senglea was badly affected on the day a dragon flew into the Grand Harbour and caused devastation, while mermaids have also been known to swim ashore to hide in Senglea’s caves.

The tour will also pass by the house where a young woman was brutally beheaded by her two lovers.

The tour begins at the foot of Fort St Michael and we then walk up the hill towards it and through the gate, into the ancient city of Senglea.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An outstanding tour from start to finish. Mario was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and presented everything in a clear, engaging way. The whole experience was very well organised, and he interacted with the group throughout the entire two hours, keeping everyone involved and interested. He was extremely well prepared, using photos on a tablet to bring the stories and locations to life, which made a big difference. What really set this tour apart was the delivery — it’s not just a tour, it’s an experience, presented with a perfect touch of dark humour :) I enjoyed it a lot and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something informative, entertaining, and memorable.
