What To Expect
Old Orhei Cave Monasteries - Historical and Spiritual Discovery Just outside of Chisinau, you’ll find Orheiul Vechi, an open-air historical complex, where the Old Orhei Cave Monasteries stand as one of Moldova's most iconic landmarks. Cave Monastery: The Orheiul Vechi Monastery is a remarkable religious site, carved into the limestone cliffs of the Raut River Valley. Dating back to the 13th century, it is a testament to the region's deep Christian heritage. Visitors can explore the caves, which are still inhabited by monks, and admire the serene surroundings that have remained largely unchanged for centuries. Ethnographical Museum & Open-Air Museum: The Orheiul Vechi Open-Air Museum offers visitors the chance to explore the rural life and traditional architecture of Moldova. You’ll encounter centuries-old dwellings, sacred places. Midday, stop at a traditional Moldovan restaurant, where you can taste local dishes (lunch is optional and paid separately). Conclude the tour with a relaxed visit to Cricova winery, where you can discover Moldova’s rich winemaking traditions and optionally enjoy a tasting before heading back.

3.00Tour was well organized and the lenght was good. Guide suggested a nice restaurants. Our guide had very strong opinions about religion, politics, immigration and sexual diversity. She also commented our nationality, occupations and some personal thinngs. She shared those toughts with us and wanted to discuss about them with us. That made us feel uncomfortable. We also received false information about Moldovian society.

5.00We had a lovely tour with Lilia to Orhei and Cricova winery. Lilia was really fun to hang out and it felt like a really casual mood. She knew all the best spots and we loved what we saw and the amazing tasty lunch. Would como back, no doubts.

5.00We spent a day with Liliya to visit the monasteries and we also did the wine tasting in cricova. Liliya is a wonderful guide. This was by far one of the most interesting tour we had in Moldova and would definitely recommend it. It was well worth it. Thank you again Liliya!

5.00The trip started with our guide, Liliya, an exceptionally knowledgeable professional whose experience, communications skills and positive, upbeat attitude set the tone for a great day at Cricova Winery and Ohrei Monastery. The winery tour and tasting was a great experience, while I left Ohrei Monastery and the nearby village, with a complete sense of awe and appreciation for the people an rich history of Moldova. It would be foolish for anyone to visit Moldova and NOT share this experience.
Great experience of Moldovan history and cuisine.
