In a small and friendly group of maximum 6 people, partake in a sensational visit of 2 wineries of Archanes to meet some winemakers of this historical wine region. Pass by Archanes region, the birthplace of cretan wines with a 4.000 years of history, an its various landscapes. Visit a new and dynamic winery. Join the winemaker for a tour on the vineyards, learning about vine growing and winemaking techniques. This will be followed by tasting 5 wines of local grapes varietals paired with local cheeses and other delicacies. Move then to one of the oldest bio organic winery of the region. There, after visiting the domain, you will taste 6 wines with cheeses and delicacies pairing under the guidance of the winemaker, enjoying the breathtaking view on the vineyards.
Move then to Archanes , pretty traditional town, for food an amazing food and wine experience: 4 stages traditional cretan food paired with 5 selected premium wines from the island to create a sensational food pairing.

Important: this tour is only available from North coast Heraklion area to Agios Nikolaos (Heraklion, Agia Pelagia, Gouves, Gournes, Kokkini Hani, Hersonnissos, Stalida, Analipsi, Anissaras, Malia, Sissi, Agios Nikolaos, Elounda,…)
Customers need to have their voucher (either by phone or printed on a paper) with them during the tour for tax reason
Pick up will be organized as much as possible at hotel reception. However it can happen for traffic reason (city town, no parking at hotel, one way roads, ... that we will provife a close to hotel meeting point with parking place

Pass by Archanes traditional wine region, the birthplace of Cretan wines with a 4.000 years wine history. Enjoy the various landscapes of the region, from olive groves to hills covered with vineyards.
Garakis Winery
First stop for a guided tour on small family new and promising winery. Meet the winemaker and join him for a tour on the vineyards, learning about vines growing and wine techniques. Then, in a cosy family atmosphere, taste 5 wines paired with local cheeses and local delicacies under the guidance of the winemaker himself.

5.00We were picked up promptly at the time agreed upon and had an amazing time. Pierre is not only very knowledgeable about food and wine, but he has an encyclopedic base of knowledge of the areas around Crete. He arranged for a very local to Crete lunch which was out of this world and the wine pairings were completely perfect. 100% would recommend to anyone who is looking for a very VIP experience around wine country of Crete.

5.00Petras was very good company for the day and extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much from him about Crete's history as well as the wine. Each of the wine makers were very accommodating and fed us well. And I cannot emphasise enough how good all of the food was! Picked fresh from the garden. The lunch at the end was just spectacular. We were so full when we returned to our hotel that we slept for 2 hours but we were very very happy. A fantastic way to spend the day and such good value for what you get out of it. Can't recommend enough!

5.00A really well planned out and enjoyable day in the wine region of Heraklion. We visited 2 wineries, touring the winery and sampling many many wines (with snacks of cheese, salads and breads to soak it up!). We then headed to the village of Archanes, to taste olive oil and enjoy a delicious 4 course meal accompanied by another 5 wines! We would highly recommend this tour, but don’t expect to stay sober!
