The Jeanie Johnson tour is a short visit on the boat that provides a good understanding of the trauma and effects of the Irish food famine. Our guide ( Fay - sorry not sure of name) was wonderful and explained while being entertaining, sensitive and informative. Families with children also enjoyed. Highly recommended.

The ship and staging below deck were so great at giving you a true perspective on what it was like on these ships. Our tour guide didn’t just tell us the story - you could tell he truly cared about the people he was telling us about.

Josh was a brilliant guide. Really interesting. He was amusing with plenty of interaction with the group, and very knowledgeable. Everyone in the group appeared to enjoy themselves and left happy, saying they were delighted they did the tour

Excellent. A particular mention to the guide, Gearoid, he gave his all. I liked his interaction with the group and the information he gave us. Not rushed and ready to answer all questions. Well done.

Our guide, Faye was AMAZING to say the least! I took a group of college students (have you seen the attention of most college students?) and they left saying this was their favorite thing we had done in Dublin so far! Faye was great, informative, and hilarious. She did such an amazing job of talking about a very serious, emotional, and sad story and making it so enjoyable! I can’t give her enough positive reviews!! This is also such an important story to understand the history or Ireland! I highly recommend it before EPIC!

We passed by EPIC museum and spotted the Jeanie Johnston ship, googled it and booked tickets. It is an Irish Famine museum on a nice replica of the ship. We had guide Faye, she was great, told some stories and facts about that period. The best thing was the small group, no crowd.

Excellent, empathetic tour led by Gary. Learned that the original ship was actually much better than a standard "coffin ship" vis-a-vis food, water, sanitation/hygiene, medical care, price, passenger load -- but still unimaginable. No one died on this ship's crossings; hence, a veritable "miracle" ship. Learned the specific stories of various passengers and crew. The courage [and desperation] of these Irish famine emigrants -- and modern-day emigrants worldwide -- is astounding.

Excellent tour and guide - Caitriona is full of anecdotes and knowledge, and she took time and effort to connect with each of us on the tour, which made it even more interactive and relatable. Great experience for my daughter & friends (11 year olds) as it brought to life what they had learnt in school about the famine. We were lucky to have a small enough group on the tour, so we had ample space to look at the exhibits once inside the ship. The tour took about 1hr, which was the perfect amount of time, not rushed. A super interesting visit, would highly recommend!

This is probably the best way to learn quickly about the famine and the "coffin ships" in part because this particular ship has such a positive and good story that keeps the experience from becoming too tough an emotional experience. Not that they downplay how bad things were; just that it is fascinating to see the story of a ship and an owner who tried to help and be a positive force for Irish people. Our guide, Stephen, was excellent, and really brought the stories to life.
