Starting off in the Östermalm area, popularised by the rich and the famous, we introduce you to the traditions of Swedish food. From richly flavoured and exquisite cheeses to game meat. On top of that beer that is crowned “The Gold of The North”. You get a red-carpet like infusion into the world of Swedish delights at the high end Östermalms Market Hall. Heading towards the heart of the city we will let you indulge in a traditional Swedish lunch. Along the way we will also introduce you to the crown jewel of our proud Nordic kitchen; the meatball! You will learn what types of potatoes to serve with it, why we have specific jams for it and other fun facts. Moving on we will guide you through the beautiful Kings Garden. We will pass the the area that Vogue Magazine voted the “third coolest district in the world”. The tour will end in Old Town, an area that dates back to the 13th century and consists of medieval alleyways and architecture. Here we will treat you with some traditional candy and sweets.

My husband and I went on this tour together and had a fabulous time with Cowton. There was a glitch with trip advisor’s reservation and the owner was able to have Cowton come take us on a tour within 2 hours on his day off! At no point did we feel like he minded working, he was friendly, informative, and walked at a great pace to each location. This tour is a great opportunity to meet a local in Sweden and ask questions about the culture, while learning about its history and favorite foods. You may not LOVE all of the foods, but I guarantee you will remember them. This tour is all about the experience. When we got home we hosted “fika” with our family on Thanksgiving with cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate and had everyone try the salted licorice (so fun to share that tasting with others. Totally worth bringing that home with us). This tour is memorable, and kept on giving. Cowton suggested 2 other places for us to try. We went there and ate some of the best food we had in Sweden.

Our guide Cotton rules!!! We were in a group of 6 and learned so much about Stockholm history, culture and food. He is a truly fantastic guide who will teach you so much. Don’t let the cold weather deter you - bundle up and get out there to learn about this wonderful city.

We booked this walking tour to not only get familiar with the city layout but also gain exposure to traditional Swedish cuisine and it did not disappoint! A total of 8 people were on tour. The meeting place is a market. Be sure to meet in the front entrance by the statute. As described, the menu is traditional Swedish food so you will likely be eating food you are not used to. Keep an open mind and you may be surprised with flavor combinations.

Cotton was a fabulous guide. I was the only one that showed and he didn’t cancel on me (it’s happened before). I got to try so many different foods - most I had never had before. I loved the history of Stockholm and Sweden he shared while walking around as well. This was a fantastic tour and well worth the time

Our guide was fantastic- gave a lot of great background on the food on our tour as well as about the city of Stockholm. The food was so interesting, some (like the salty licorice) while not for me, was a really cool experience. The Swedish meatballs and the cinnamon bun with coffee were my favorites!

Had a wonderful afternoon with Teresa tasting a variety of Swedish foods, learning about Sweden along the way, walking thru different neighborhoods of Stockholm and enjoying her lovely company while I toured Stockholm solo. I highly recommend this tour and you’re lucky if you end up with Teresa as your guide!

We had a fantastic time on this food tour and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Stockholm. Our guide, Sarah, was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the experience. We learned a lot about Stockholm’s food culture through a variety of tastings across different neighborhoods, complemented by the insightful information Sarah shared. I especially appreciated the sit-down tasting at the seafood eatery and the FIKA break at the café—it was a great opportunity to relax and connect with others on the tour. Bobby and Gary

Knowledgeable local guide with deep respect for the vendors, and is as his guests. Fascinating facts, lovely food. A wide selection of foods showcasing Swedish fare. We even went back to a couple of the places he took us. He was great company and had great patience answering the 101 questions I had, from tax and healthcare policy in Sweden to broader questions of philosophy. The thinking persons guide. Come hungry, come with good walking shoes and an open mind.

Nordic Food Walk Stockholm had the essentials necessary to make a great culinary tour. The tour guide (Cotton) was very knowledgeable about the food he was introducing, but was very standoffish and awkward with his clients. He often walked ahead of the group and was on his phone. When you pay the amount we paid for the tour, I expected someone who would be more personable. The food itself was what was advertised...
