Museum and Crypt of Capuchins Friars
Your first destination is the Capuchin Crypt. Capuchin monks used the bones of nearly 4,000 of their brothers to decorate this somber space in intricate floor-to-ceiling designs, lending it the macabre nickname of ‘the Bone Chapel’. Here you will be free to explore hearing all the interesting details and the reasons behind such an unusual practice with your audio guide. Open your eyes to the city’s hidden side – and you’ll never see Rome the same way again.
Catacombe Di Domitilla
Your expert historian guide will explain how this network of sacred tunnels is associated with the first Christians in ancient Rome. You’ll descend into the labyrinthian corridors carved into the soft volcanic rock and discover the frescoes, strange iconography and burial places which doubled as places of worship when the Christians were persecuted.

This was a fascinating tour, well informed guides who were very approachable. Make sure you wear comfy shoes and be prepared to climb quite a few stairs.

I thouroughly enjoyed this experience. After several tours of major tourist cites this was a great change of pace. My guide Katarina was extremely knowledgeable about the early Christian and Roman practices related to death and history surrounding the sites. She was great at communicating this information and providing a positive atmosphere for the tour.

Rip off Told that due to national holiday we would visit not the Bascilica but a different church. We only got 2 of the 3 stops outlined in booking.

Would give 0 stars if possible. The tour guide who originally met up with us started talking to us about the plan for the day next to a busy road with heavy traffic and no one in the group could actually hear the plan for the day. We went to a boring monk museum with a boring audio guide. Visited a crypt for about 1 minute which seems insufficient for a “crypts and catacombs” tour. We left 45 minutes into the tour because we were so disappointed by the reality of this tour and when we told the tour guide we were leaving another person on the tour said we were making “the great escape”. Clearly others were misguided and disappointed with this tour as well. When I told the tour company they would not provide a refund. Please save your money and spend your valuable vacation time and money on a better trip than this.

Would recommend this tour! Alain provided great information at each location and checked in regularly to ensure everyone felt comfortable. Learned much information and saw memorable imagery. The bus portion felt safe and clean. Getting into each crypt, catacomb, and church was effortless. Meeting location was easy to find.
