What To Expect
Museum and Crypt of Capuchins Friars
Your first destination is the Capuchin Crypt. Capuchin monks used the bones of nearly 4,000 of their brothers to decorate this somber space in intricate floor-to-ceiling designs, lending it the macabre nickname of ‘the Bone Chapel’. Here you will be free to explore hearing all the interesting details and the reasons behind such an unusual practice with your audio guide. Open your eyes to the city’s hidden side – and you’ll never see Rome the same way again.
Catacombe Di Domitilla
Your expert historian guide will explain how this network of sacred tunnels is associated with the first Christians in ancient Rome. You’ll descend into the labyrinthian corridors carved into the soft volcanic rock and discover the frescoes, strange iconography and burial places which doubled as places of worship when the Christians were persecuted.

2.00Excursion does not start at 2.20. Completely waisted our pressures 40 min standing in a crowd and doing absolutely nothing. Had to walk up the hill to the coach . Excursion itself was way too long walking around this narrow paths of catacombs.

5.00We wanted to experience something a little different on our visit to Rome, so when we saw this your advertised we started looking at different choices, the Original crypt tour by city wonders was by far the best option, 3 different locations with transfers. We didn't know what to expect but our guide Andrea was excellent, he was friendly, funny and absolutely knew his stuff...he explained the afternoons destinations and filled us with so much knowledge. The cappuccin crypt is a very eerie place indeed, have an open mind when visiting. The catacombs were excellent, and a must do in my opinion, The only disappointment is that there is no photography aloud. The final church you visit is absolutely stunning, beautiful statues and paintings the decor is like a palace it also has a little surprise underneath it. Overall I would recommend this to anyone wanting to do something else or a little different than visit ruins etc. At no time did we feel rushed or pressured while visiting each destination and the coach driver was very friendly and the coach itself comfortable, thank you Andrea for sharing your knowledge and showing us a different side to Rome.
