Museum and Crypt of Capuchins Friars
Your first destination is the Capuchin Crypt. Capuchin monks used the bones of nearly 4,000 of their brothers to decorate this somber space in intricate floor-to-ceiling designs, lending it the macabre nickname of ‘the Bone Chapel’. Here you will be free to explore hearing all the interesting details and the reasons behind such an unusual practice with your audio guide. Open your eyes to the city’s hidden side – and you’ll never see Rome the same way again.
Catacombe Di Domitilla
Your expert historian guide will explain how this network of sacred tunnels is associated with the first Christians in ancient Rome. You’ll descend into the labyrinthian corridors carved into the soft volcanic rock and discover the frescoes, strange iconography and burial places which doubled as places of worship when the Christians were persecuted.
Exclusive Evening Tour Option: Choose this option for an exclusive tour at 5pm, after the public has left the Catacombs of Rome

We loved the places that the tour went, but the guides were very late and disorganized. However Cat was very good with information while on the tour and very sweet. Then they ended the tour in a different area that was hard to find a taxi and my internet was poor so that was very stressful.

Our group's guide, Antonino, oddly brought up "the great religion Islam" when delivering tour speech on the bus to the group. It just felt very out of place in a tour about Capuchin Friars, and sacred Catholic Christian catacomb Di Domitilla, and Catholic Basilica of San Martino AI Monti. He spent a lot of time discounting the significance of various symbols rather than telling us about each symbols importance in Catholicism which again I found odd and not very useful. It is not mentioned in the tour's written description but this Basilica held a synod event regarding the Nicene Creed statement in preparation for the 325 first Council of Nicea regarding the Nicene Creed where it was formally adopted. I felt this important event should have been more clearly communicated since it is such an important development of Catholic doctrine and I feel very lucky to have happened to visit this church and see where this important history occured. I recommend that you visit the Museum and Crypt of the Capuchin Friars independently and take the audio to at your own speed because you will just do the same with this tour but be rushed and skip the catacomb d domitola entirely because it was not that interesting and on your own go see the Basilica yourself because it is not far and free.

Different experience in the eternal city. Not for everyone, as it discusses death and how people of faith view burial rituals.

Tanzia was our guide and we had an amazing experience! She was absolutely charming and had every detail organized perfectly, including an impromptu complimentary tour of the Basilica of St. Clement! She took truly great photos in all the best places and sent them to us before we left her. I highly recommend this tour company and especially Tanzia if you are ever in Rome ! ❤️🇮🇹

Great value for the experiences. Our tour guide was condescending at times, maybe he thought he was being funny. Very knowledgeable.
