On this tour you will visit the main highlights of Valletta, while also visiting an often ignored but equally fascinating part of the city. The tour starts at the modernized entrance of Valletta, and while walking along the majestic streets of the city, your guide will point out all the main landmarks, while keeping you entertained with fascinating and little-known true stories. What was it like to be a patient at the Holy Infirmatory? Or a galley slave on the ships of the Order? Were all Knights behaving in accordance to their vows?

Carlo(sp?) was informative and humorous. He provided a lot of historical background but gave interesting trivia as well. He was patient with people, who don’t plan well, went to purchase umbrellas since it was raining.

Fabulous, kind, funny and informative tour guide. Good way to see and learn about Valletta in a timely manner. Think the tour guides name was Gordon.

Carmel was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate about all things Maltese. If this is your first time in Malta, this walking tour is great for getting to know the basics (history, culture, food, where to go/eat)

Carmel was a wonderful host - informative, funny and passionate about Maltese History. The rain was torrential but we still managed to have a wonderful tour as Carmel kept spirits high, found shelter where possible and even paused the tour to allow us to buy an umbrella.

The guide was very informative and we learned a lot about Valletta and the history of the area & fortified city. We were disappointed that even though afternoon tea break was right at the upper barracks just before the firing of the cannons we continued without seeing them firing. We could have missed one of the last laneway used by sailors instead. She had a speaker and was very clear English, and gave times to visit sites on our own.
