  Dear Waldorf DC Management - We want to commend the excellent service we received from everyone on the Waldorf staff as we celebrated the wedding of Joe and Amanda in May 2025. Everyone on the Waldorf staff was extremely professional and outstanding at their job. We obtained a few names to identify, but this list is not exclusive. Everyone who worked with us should be commended. Kalynne worked with us for months and provided insightful and experienced guidance throughout. The catering staff provided excellent service for the reception; we received many, many compliments on the excellent hors d’oeuvres and meal items and post-meal items. Then on Sunday morning in the Franklin Room, your catering staff went above and beyond to give us a terrific experience for our Sunday brunch. We recall Nancy, Ricky, Cesar and Rolando, but if missed anyone else, all of them were great. From the valet and bellhop service, we know we worked with at least Danish, Antineh, Antineh, Farhod, Baba, Eyob, Ahmed and Omar, but everyone who helped us was great. Everyone at the front desk was very professional and very helpful. We had many rooms, including 622 and 535, and the housekeepers, whose names we did not get, were outstanding. Thank you to the many Waldorf staff members who made our entire weekend so special. We had the celebration of a lifetime, and you helped make it perfect. All the best, John and Roxana

  they cancelled on me last minute, had to go with another company. would not recommend. The price seemed fair but bit of a bate-and-switch, or at least they held out for a large/group booking.

  The trip was lovely, the tour guide was well informed, we met lovely people in our tour. Rating low because we left gifts in the van and we didn’t get feedback from driver nor the office after calling them and assuring us to check.

  We go into vardero go to church across from the little market think it's on 43 ave as you come into city. We give the priest 100 dollars he gives it to poor kids and adoption. Priest remembers us by name. Great cause. We also on blau vardero site. It tells you want poor people need. They dont have most items and cant buy them. We bring 2 60lb suitcases full.   Spent 4 days in Borovets with snow but no actual snowfall till the last night, when it dumped about 30cm. So i got a couple of hours on my last morning with fresh snow, before my transfer back to Sofia. Arrived in Sofia in the afternoon knowing that there was plenty more snow on the way so decided to get straight back to Borovets for another day of skiing. Checked the internet and found Nik's company Balkanity Travel, enquired on the possibility of a day trip for the next day and Nik it was confirmed in no time! We even left earlier than scheduled to get more time on the slopes! Nik was a great host and an even better bloke, had all the gear organised and answered any questions i had. Could not recommend a better tour company if you are in Bulgaria, Nik will look after you. Hope to get back and visit again one day! Cheers from Australia Nik.

  Absolutely fabulous day!!! We were well looked after by Nik from start to finish and the whole day was incredibly well organised. Pick up was bang on time from our hotel, a very safe journey to Borovets, and an amazing day skiing and horse riding. Nik happily waited for us while we enjoyed a little drink after skiing and then drove us safely home. Highly recommended!

  I did a day trip out to Borovets with Nikolay in early January 2020. As an Aussie on a trip through Romania and Bulgaria, I didn't have any of the requisite equipment with me, so to find a company that provided it all - ski clothes, ski pass, helmet, boots and skis, was incredible. I didn't know such a service even existed! I corresponded with Nikolay a few times before I arrived in Sofia, and he was always so friendly, helpful and caring, even helping me decide how to travel from Romania to Sofia to maximise my time. When he collected me for the Borovets day trip, it was like meeting an old friend! We chatted about loads on the drive out, he was so open to answering my many questions about his country, his thoughts on its past and its future, on the natural beauty of the landscape and the history of the region. The journey to the slopes flew by! The whole process was really smooth and seamless, with the collection of ski clothes and equipment completed so easily and seeing I was struggling walking in the snow, Nikolay even carried my skis for me while I got to grips with walking up to the snowy slopes! I wasn't going to bother taking the gondola up to the top of the mountain, assuming that I didn't have the skill to ski back down from so high up, but Nikolay encouraged me to, in order to "enjoy a hot chocolate with an amazing view" and I am so glad that I took his advice (again!) and then I was able to ride the gondola back down again to slopes that were better suited to my skill set. I was so tired out by the end of the day, and on the journey home thought, "Oh no, I still need to walk home from the station..." Then I remembered, no! It was a door to door service! Oh the joy! Nikolay dropped me right outside my hostel and I was so delighted with my day and with him, that I gave him a great big hug goodbye. He is running a great company and is a real delight to deal with. I would definitely recommend the ski trip to others.
