Lukiskes Square
One of the main squares of Vilnius, known as the square of Lenin in the Soviet Union times. Nowadays, this square has been reconstructed in a modern way and there is no statue of Lenin anymore
We’ll pause outside the Lukiškių Prison, once a tsarist jail and later a KGB holding site, now a cultural space that still carries the weight of history.

A very informative tour of the ‘KGB Prison’ and surrounding area. Thomas, our guide, was knowledgable and able to explain the complex and sensitive history Lithuania and Vilnius in particular. He encouraged questions and was keen for us all to learn about his country. We enjoyed hearing about the Lithuania parliament too. A brief but informative (and hard hitting) tour!

Great tour, was just me and the guide, Domas, who was very friend and really knowledgeable! Some amazing and devastating history that I wasn't aware of. Recommended.

Hidden away in a rather ordinary building. A sobering reminder of how far Lithuania has come in the last 35+ years since occupation. The somewhat cramped rooms, only helped to reinforce how oppressive things must have been here at that time. Would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Vilnius.

All described in detail giving the feeling of reliving those times. For me it was a great cultural enrichment. The really professional and prepared guide

This walking tour of the KGB Museum and key historical sites in Vilnius was incredibly informative and engaging. Our local guide spoke excellent English and provided detailed, insightful commentary throughout the tour. We learned so much about Lithuania’s complex and often tragic history during the Soviet era, particularly through our visit to the KGB Museum, which was both powerful and moving. The guide’s knowledge and passion for the subject made the experience even more meaningful. It was a well-paced tour, easy to follow on foot, and a great way to better understand the historical and cultural context of Vilnius. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history or looking to go beyond the usual tourist spots.

Guide was amazing! The museum was really good!! But you don't really need a tour!!! For comparison, in Riga you have to be on a tour to view the KGB museum. Here the guide just walked into packed rooms and just talked over the background noise (other people). I woulda had a similar experience just showing myself around and reading the signs.

Very awesome place telling heavy history of jews and lithuanians under nazi and russian rule. The guide was competent but his linguistic ability and spelling/pronounciation could have been clearer. I would have needed even more time to familiarize better in the museum.
