Tiddis Roman Ruins
We start our tour from a group of circular tombs known as Bazinas, some which are pre-Roman and then we continue up to the main entrance of the town through a massive gate with the Arch of Memmius where we can see different types of sanctuaries of the Roman gods such as Ceres, Vesta and Mithra. We can also see a Christian Church and baptisteries. A great number of cisterns scattered around the area including a massive Water tank on the upper part of the site with three large basins which basically proves that they had problems with water supply. We can also see on the lower side a large Villa of Mosaics with the remains of an olive press, and baths that were later used as a pottery.
Tiddis Roman Ruins
Mausoleum of Quintus Lollius Urbicus After visiting the Roman ruins of Tiddis, we set out to a nearby family Mausoleum of Quintus Lollius Urbicus about 4 km, a memorial of the governor of Britannia between 139 and 142. It was built for his family which is still standing in an isolated field and an abraded inscriptions dedicated to his family members.

I really enjoyed this tour. Tiddis is on the side of a mountain and the views from inside the ruins were superior. The guide was exceptional. Her English was very good and her knowledge of the site really made the tour special. I highly recommend this tour and Fancy Yellow.

Bilel (guide) and Haroun (driver) are excellent experts to make your experience unforgettable. Tiddis is a very nice archeological site to understand the history of the area. You can enjoy a site almost on your own as there are not many tourists in Algeria.
