Tikal
Visit one of the largest and most important Mayan places in Central America. Once we are in the Park let your imagination fly, we'll enter a mysterious world where there are more than 3000 structures and only 30% of them are discovered. We'll tell you how the Mayans lived as we'll pass through the Palaces of the Mayan Aristocracy, we'll teach you what their values were, their structure, their religion. We'll arrive at the Central Park where you'll get to know the spectacular Pyramid symbol of Guatemala: The Great Jaguar and you'll be able to go up to the Temple of the Masks: The Temple 2. Then we'll continue our journey in El Mundo Perdido to understand where the City started and the calculation accuracy of the ancient civilization. But it does not end here!!! We'll finish the tour climbing one of the highest pyramids in the world: Temple IV, with a height of 64 meters, which has been used as a stage for several films, one of them the first Star Wars movie of 1977, as well as the eleventh James Bond movie of 1979. After 3 to 4 hours of tour we'll end up delighting with typical Guatemalan food in the best restaurant of the Park. Discover the history of the Mayans and delve into their culture where science, mathematics, wars, arranged marriages between families, religious sacrifices and their impressive capacity to build make us understand how this civilization was one of the most important the history of mankind.

We visited Tikal on January 21st with our guide Obdulio, and it ended up being one of the most special experiences of our trip. Walking into the jungle in complete darkness and then suddenly seeing the sunrise over those ancient temples… it’s something really magical. Obdulio was an amazing guide — genuinely passionate, a great storyteller, and someone who really brings the place to life. It felt like we were traveling back in time, understanding the history and everything that led up to what we see today. It’s definitely a more expensive tour, but honestly, it’s worth every extra dollar. We did Yaxhá with another company and this experience was on a completely different level. Kind of wish we had booked more tours with them!

An excellent day well organised and run. Pick up on time, good driver and van and an excellent guide in Kendel who is very knowledgeable and speaks good English. Tikal is a big site but the way that Kendel worked the route meant we had plenty of time to look at the temples and palaces and listen to the history

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour to Tikal. The tight, long bus ride out to Tikal was not my favorite but once we arrived the experience was great. The ruins are spectacular and learning about the history was very interesting. The meal at the end of the day was delicious.

This tour is a perfect way to explore Tikal for the first time. It began with us walking through the jungle, taking more narrow paths led by our guide Henry that we would have never taken without him. He stopped to share information about the unique trees and vegetation of the jungle as well as pointing out different animals we saw along the way. Henry was very considerate, choosing to take us to Temple 4 early on in the tour when we still had the energy to climb to the top. Afterwards, we viewed lots of other parts of the archaeological site and finished our tour in the Grand Plaza. He gave us plenty of time to explore and take lots of photos. We finished our tour with an excellent meal, which all of us on the tour were happy to have after all the physical activity of walking through the jungle and climbing the different sites. The pick up was easily communicated through WhatsApp, and the drop off was also taken care of. I’d say we spent about 8 to 9 hours on this tour and every minute it was incredibly enjoyable!

We enjoyed our van trip to Tikal and the explanations of Mayan culture and the architecture as well as history of the Mayans at this site. There was a platform to climb up to one of the temples and plenty of other buildings, temples to explore on our own. We had an amazing lunch included within the park too. We saw howler and spider monkeys as well as exotic birds that are guide pointed out to us along with medicinal plants and marks on trees for accessing sap, etc. Our guide was constantly pointed out features of the jungle we would have missed on our own. The mosquitos were not bad and we had our bug repellent, sun shirts and hats. Truly a memorable visit to Tikal! The small group size is the way to go!

We took the Tikal Small Group all Included Tour from Flores on 02/20/26 and had a wonderful experience. Our group was seven tourists, a driver and an English speaking guide, who is a native Guatemalan. Everything was on-time and went smoothly. Our guide, Dany (Eroldany) was excellent. He was knowledgeable and explained everything simply. Five stars all the way. Thank you Dany from Kay & Jess - USA

I have nothing but good things to say about our tour of Tikal with Tikal go tours. Our ride showed up in Flores just after 3am. Our guide Nate was engaging, funny, considerate and knowledgeable. The pre dawn jungle walk was beautiful. Listening to the sounds of the jungle, identifying flora and spotting insects. As we progressed we discussed the Mayan ruins before heading up the stairs at temple 4 to watch the sunrise. We arrived early enough to get good seats near the doorway at the top. As the jungle came alive we heard howler monkeys, birds and insects. The sunrise was amazing! We even spotted the orange breasted falcon. After we met up again with Nate and started the archeological portion of the tour. We visited Temple 1, and then the 'grande manzana' or the Gran Plaza. Its incredible how many of temples and pyramids you get to climb up and around. Nate was well informed: he explained when, how and why things were built as they are, specific important sights to be found in different areas, and provided plenty of time to wander and really take in the site.

Took the sunset tour with Tikal Go Tours and it was outstanding. Communication was excellent, pickup was punctual, and the itinerary was perfectly organized. Our guide, Obdulio, was dynamic, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. You can tell he truly loves what he does. Transportation with Antonio (driver) was safe and comfortable, and the included lunch was decent. We saw monkeys and beautiful birds, and Obdulio seemed to know the perfect timing for each stop because the sites were nearly empty, which made the experience even more special. Between the laughter, learning, and breathtaking views, Tikal Go Tours has absolutely earned my trust and recommendation. If you’re researching who to book with, look no further! And if your tour guide is Obdulio… you’re in excellent hands.
