Temple IV
First thing, we will climb this temple with you to wait for sunrise from the top, enjoying the most wonderful view and the sounds of the waking up wildlife, then we will have breakfast up there. We developed the sunrise tour because our guests deserve to see Tikal first thing in the morning to appreciate wildlife when it is more active as well as at the end of the day. The main attraction of this tour is the awakening of the jungle with the noise of birds and howler monkeys, the sunrise is seen only 20% of the time, as it is usually cloudy or foggy. The official name of this temple is Temple of the Double Headed Serpent, as when the temple was discovered, it had a wooden carved lintel with the sacred double headed serpent carved on it, now this wooden carving is in a famous museum. The nickname of this temple is Temple of Star Wars as back in 1977 the movie director George Lucas came to Tikal to film part of the original Star Wars Movie, Episode IV "A New Hope"

Wonderful experience from start to finish! I was picked up in a comfortable EV but a driver and guide for the day. We made our way to Tikal where we had coffee, cookies and Bananas. I was offered water to fill up my water bottle. We made our way into the rainforest to the first temple to view the sun rise. Although it was foggy, the sound of the wildlife was incredible go listen to. My guide took me around, sharing his extensive knowledge of the history and Mayan culture. I was blown away by the factual information my guide was able to tell me off the top of his head. Breakfast & lunch was included which was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We took the morning tour and had a fantastic experience! Our guide, Marlon, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Tikal and Mayan culture. He made us feel truly welcome and even brought binoculars for us to use. The included meal was delicious, too. Highly recommend—10/10! Marlon is outstanding.

We were very pleased with this tour - we were picked up from the hotel in Flores on time and were lucky that there were only two of us. On the way there was already a catering (coffee, cookies, etc.) After a short hike through the national park in the dark you reach the first temple, from where you can watch the sunrise and awakening of the jungle. We had enough time there to enjoy the view and our breakfast. Afterwards Marlon took us through the national park, showed us a variety of animals as well as Mayan ruins and shared his knowledge with us. He left us everywhere enough time to watch / take photos. Afterwards we had a very delicious lunch before returning. We would recommend everyone the tour during sunrise!

5 ️100%!!!!! We travel alot and have taken many many tours over the years and this was hands down the BEST tour/tourguide weve had! Marlon was AMAZING! He was super communicative leading up to the trip to make sure we had all the relevant info and to make sure everything was in order ahead of time (pickup time, location, tickets, what to bring, etc.) He was prompt on pickup and gave us a rundown on how the day would go. He was SO polite, fun, and KNOWLEDGEABLE!!!!!!!! Got to the park and getting checked in was super qsmooth, enjoyed some morning coffee he prepared and had a quick traditional breakfast cookie before we hit the path into the park to catch the beautiful sunrise atop temple IV (a must see), then a breakfast he prepared while taking in the view! Then down to what was such an informative tour by Marlon. He knew all the spots, animals, sounds, plants, history, and had the answers to ALL of our question!! He provided snacks along the way and we finished with a good lunch at the Jaguar restaurant. If you get a chance to visit Tikal...... book a tour with them!!!!!!! Trust me, you will NOT regret it or get a better tour. THANK YOU MARLON FOR MAKING OUR TRIP TO TIKAL UNFORGETTABLE!!!!
