What To Expect
Tikal National Park
In this tour we will explore Tikal everything of Tikal and expect to see animals and birds plus the sunset. ITINERARY 12.00 p.m. – we meet you and pick you up at your hotel 2:15 p.m. – We arrive at Tikal National Park and begin our walk through the park visiting the most impressive sites. 6.00pm sunset, hopefully. 6:30 p.m. – The tour ends at the Tikal parking lot and we drive back to Flores. 8:00 p.m. – We arrive back in Flores to drop you at the airport or hotel. IMPORTANT INFORMATION There is no ATM in Tikal, so please withdraw enough cash in Flores. If arriving at the airport, we will have a sign with your name after you come through baggage claim and exit the airport. THINGS TO BRING Flashlight Snacks Confortable shoes. 5.00Everything went well. It started with a transfer in a convienient car. Fidias drove safely to the place. Our Guide Kendel is a very nice guy. Not only did he know a lot about the history but it was also a pleasure to talk about today‘s life in Guatemala. Thanks a lot!

5.005/5 experience. Elmer is a top guide - personable, fun, and with exceptional knowledge of the Mayan civilization (among others). He can also show you the best view points for the Tikal ruins and the fauna of the park (including birds). I can’t speak for the other guides, but I know with Elmer, you will be satisfied. If you go to Tikal, you may already know you should have a guide or you’ll miss 90%+ of the significance of the park. Elmer brought these ancient ruins back to life. Animal life: Elmer directed our attention to see a coati, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, coral snake, scorpions and nighttime wandering spiders, melodious blackbird, great curassow, black-crowned tityra, Baltimore oriole, ~10 keel-billed toucans, and many, many parrots.

5.00Tikal is a magical place. It was made better by the excellent tours I took through Tikal VIP. I did both the sunrise and sunset tours, both were excellent. Daniel (sunset tour) spoke only Spanish (which I don’t), but despite language barriers was able to direct me to some excellent places for great photos. Antonio (sunrise tour) not only spoke excellent English was the most well-informed guide I have ever had. He grew up in the park (his father worked there) and as a child played amongst the Mayan ruins. His knowledge of Tikal and the Maya in general were simply outstanding. He is a true scholar. The driver Fidias, spoke good English and was very accommodating. Two excellent experiences. I highly recommend.

5.00Elmer was amazing, I couldn’t recommend him more! He and his driver took our family on a private tour of Tikal. He was so knowledgeable about Tikal and the area and just lovely to spend the afternoon with. We all had a blast. They were also on time, with a comfy van, and lots of drinks and snacks, and very easy to communicate with. Tikal itself is phenomenal and Elmer made it even better. Thank you!

5.00My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of touring both Yaxhá and Tikal in a single day with Oscar, also known as “Pinky” — and what an incredible experience it was! Oscar is not just a guide; he is a deeply knowledgeable expert in archaeology and anthropology, and his passion for the Maya civilization shines through in every explanation. He was endlessly patient, answering all my many questions about Maya religion, history, locations, daily life, and more. What set Oscar apart was how well-prepared he was: he brought photos, maps, and visual aids that made the ruins and temples come alive. Thanks to him, we didn’t just see ancient stones — we understood the meaning behind them, the stories, the people, the context. Oscar also introduced us to the local wildlife; we spotted at least ten different species of birds, mammals, and other animals. He even provided us with a thoughtful bird app and a list of Maya-related books to deepen my knowledge afterward. Perhaps best of all, Oscar showed us parts of the sites that many other guides overlook, filling the entire trip with moments of wonder and insight. What could have been just a sightseeing stop became a meaningful, immersive experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Oscar (“Pinky”) to anyone wanting more than just a surface-level tour — he delivers a journey into the heart of Maya history and culture.
Our Guide Jesus Antonio was fantastic. The driver Anibal was also very PRESTATIVE and AMABLE. Wonderful walk.

5.00Wonderful walk. The guide of the tour was our guide Jesus Antônio and our driver ANIBAL. I highly recommend this tour. When you book, ask the GUIA JESUS ANTÔNIO, friendly, with a great knowledge of the Mayan culture, one realizes that he loves his work very much. Jesus Antonio has great historical knowledge, provided unforgettable moments on today's tour. ANIBAL was super attentive and helpful. We had to stop at the supermarket to buy food and he stopped with good taste and education. He also made a stop at the lake and told us a little history. Thank you Jesus Anthony and ANIBAL for the excellent tour.

5.00Excellent experience the early morning tour to Tikal with Elmer our Guide with much knowledge of Mayan culture and its ecosystem. Besides that in July it is more advisable to go in the early morning, since you avoid the extreme heat of noon.. recommended
