I’ll admit, the price is a bit intimidating, but I couldn’t be more happy with deciding to splurge for this once in a lifetime experience. Matai was our guide and was extremely and genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. You can go with his suggestions, or ask for whatever you wish to do or see. You will not be disappointed either way, or do as we did. Let him know what you think you’d like and let him show you the rest. I assumed lunch would be some sandwiches and snacks, but we were amazed at what “lunch” was. A private beachside gourmet barbecue with champagne and fantastic Polynesian dishes. It was incredible. I say “once in a lifetime” but if I’m so lucky to be able to return to the paradise of Bora Bora, I will certainly make it a twice in a lifetime experience!

We had a wonderful snorkel trip with Tiba. His wife joined as cocaptain and made our experience extra special. Both of them were incredibly friendly and professional. They made it a point to show us different parts of the island and give us some background on the various resorts. We didn’t have a planned itinerary and Tiba curated the full four hour experience with three stops. On the first one, we snorkeled with stingrays and sharks. The second one was the clearest snorkel spot on the island with thousands of fish and two very large eels. The final one was in a grilled lunch with champagne at a spot where the sand was so soft, it felt like cream. The couple did a great job with setting out a table on their boat. It felt like a picnic in the middle of the lagoon.

We would do this again. For almost the same price as a big tour company with small boat packed with people, we were able to cruise to the same sites for snorkeling, ray and shark feeding, with the added bonus of drinks and a freshly grilled lunch of beef, tuna, and shrimp. This is the only way to see Bora Bora. I would definitely book again in a second. Bob, our captain, was great!
