Overall very poor experience. Exploring the market on our own would have been a much more enjoyable and cost effective experience. We went to four different stalls, which was fine, but got no explanation as to what we were eating, the significance of the market, etc. Bottom line we learned very little from our guide. Our guide also spent most of the time walking between all the stalls that offered free samples, I felt like I was walking through a Costco. The tour wraps with a sushi lunch but the quality of the sushi was very poor. I would not recommend this to anyone, especially at this price point.

Yoshio was warm and friendly and very knowledgeable. Enjoyed all of his stories as we walked through the market. Also liked the fact that it was just 4 of us in the group

If you’re looking for the perfect introduction to Tokyo’s food culture, look no further than this Tsukiji Market tour. My husband and I came away completely enchanted — not just by the incredible food, but by the entire experience our guide Junko created for us. From the very first tasting, it was clear this was no ordinary tour. Spread across five distinct food stops, we were guided through a full sensorial journey — savoring fresh sushi, rich tamagoyaki, delicious fresh strawberries, amazing wagyu skewers, fragrant street snacks, and more. Each tasting built on the last, painting a vivid picture of why Tsukiji is legendary. Nothing felt rushed; every bite came with context, story, and genuine excitement. But the true magic was Junko. She is knowledgeable, funny, warm, and wonderfully attuned to her guests. She has a rare gift for making you feel completely at ease in an unfamiliar environment — whether you’re navigating a bustling market stall or trying something for the first time. She didn’t just tell us about the food; she made us fall in love with it. The tour didn’t stop at food, either. Junko guided us through nearby shrines and taught us how to perform a proper prayer — explaining the meaning and ritual behind each step with such care and reverence that we were genuinely moved. It was one of those unexpected travel moments that stays with you long after you’ve gone home. This tour is a must for any first-time visitor to Tokyo, or honestly, anyone who wants to experience the city through its heart and flavors. Junko, thank you for making our trip so special. We’ll be talking about this day for years to come. 🙏
