This is a fabulous tour with lots of taste testing! We started out at the shrine where we learned how to pray properly at a Shinto shrine. Then we walked to the market which was a sensory delight. We tried so many things from strawberry mochi to fish balls to egg on a stick. We stopped at a Buddhist temple and ended at a restaurant where the chef demonstrated how he prepares a fish for sushi. We then made our own sashimi bowls. Such a fabulous tour!

We had a wonderful time today exploring the Tsukiju Fish Market with our guide Maki. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and we really enjoyed tasting all the Japanese specialty foods. We even had time to visit the Namiyoke Inari Shrine and understand the importance of the area. We would definitely recommend this activity. The quality of the food we tasted was very good indeed!

I didn't have a single bad bite at all. Our guide Eriko was so nice and thoughtful. She gave us a little bit of history, recommendations, and even helped us navigate the inner market for tastings not included on the official tour but we were able to purchase with yen (so bring cash!) We ended our tour with a special treat, seeing up close Chef Moritaya fileting a fresh tuna and then made our own seafood salad. A special thanks again to Eriko for curating a special experience at the Tsukiji Fish Market!

Shigeru was a great guide. We thoroughly enjoyed his history of the fish market and explanations of the street foods: fried fish balls, wagu bites, omelettes on a stick. The experience with the chef demonstrating how he slices fresh fish was great fun. He had great presentation of the food. He even torched some raw salmon and tuna for us to have some “ cooked fish” with our rice bowl. We ended the tour with an ice cream cone. Highly recommend this tour.

The fish market is definitely worth a visit and our guide was a very pleasant gentleman. However, this experience unfortunately didn’t offer enough value for money. The eating experiences are rushed whilst standing in crowded walkways. The fish-cutting demonstration feels like a tick-box for the chef and it is very quick.

Great way to learn about the history and culture of the Markets. Yuriko was an excellent guide - very friendly, professional and great knowledge. Was fantastic that it was such a small group.
