Here, I’ll give you a historical introduction to Toledo, sharing its importance as the capital of the Visigothic Kingdom and its fascinating mix of cultures. We’ll use this square to set the scene for the medieval city and prepare the way for the stops ahead.

From Zocodover, we’ll walk to the Alcázar of Toledo, a fortress that has witnessed many historic events, including the Spanish Civil War. At this point, I’ll tell you about its origins, its defensive role, and how it has evolved over the centuries.

Had a wonderful tour with Sara! She was very knowledgeable and informative kn the different sights in Toledo and offered great tips on seeing other sights as well. We felt like the pace of the tour was just right, and saw all of the things we wanted to see. Sarah was incredible-she brought history alive and her deep routed local knowledge. She took us to off the beaten path roads and told us all the best places to shop. The tour of the cathedral was a highlight and stop for local sweets. High recommend!
