We are an experienced shuttle service providing transport for visitors to and from the Tongariro National Park since the 90's.

Characterised by ancient volcanic scenery, spectacular skylines and local Maori legend, this World Heritage Site also features one of the best day hikes in the world.

The Tongariro Alpine Crossing spans 19 kilometres along the active Tongariro Volcano in New Zealand’s Central Plateau, offering visitors a thrilling journey through some of the country’s most unique landscapes.

With more than 25 years’ experience living and breathing the Tongariro lifestyle, the team at Tongariro Expeditions understand this unique alpine environment better than most. Tongariro Holiday Park Shuttle

Tongariro Holiday Park: This service picks up from the car park in front of the Tongariro Holiday Park called Base Camp at 6:40am.

Ketetahi Park N Ride

This service takes you from the end of the track to the start. Check in time in 30 mins prior to departure time.

Taupo Return Shuttle

Pick up from your central Taupo accommodation or Taupo isite. Pick up time is 5:20am.
Pickup included

Turangi Return Shuttle

Turangi Return 6:10am or7:10am: Pick up from your central Turangi accommodation or Turangi isite. Pick up time either 6:10am or 7:10am, to be confirmed when you call the day before. Leave the end of the track between 2:30-4:30pm.

Arrived at Ketetahi car park 3 minutes before the shuttle departs to Mangatepopo. Just tell your name to the driver and he will tick your name and you can enter the bus. Price-wise, its the cheapest i could find. I bought the ticket the night before my hike. Easily recommended.

The shuttle arrived early to make sure everything was in order, and we arrived safely to the spot we needed to start the hike from. Quick response time, friendly driver.
Very good operator. Great to be able to park at the end of the hike, so you don’t wait for your operator on the way back

All was perfect. The meeting point was clear (at the end of Ketetahi Road), and the drivers were already there waiting for us. There is ample parking. Probably the best option to hike the Tongarino Alpine Crossing. You basically park your car at the end of the hike, the company drops you off at the start, and so at the end of the hike, you can just walk back to your car (no need to wait for your company, which is great!). Would definitely recommend

The shuttle was well organised and on time. The guide briefing was useful. The walk itself, whilst challenging, was a tremendously rewarding experience.

The driver of shuttle was very kind and cautious. He checked on conditions before letting us leave the shuttle. Windy, foggy day with high winds at the top making it difficult to stand up. Couldn't see very far due to fog and steady light rain all day. Still an amazing hike through alpine and then rain forest.
