  Very average. Communication prior to the tour with 'James VU' was very unprofessional. He sent long WhatsApp messages with complicated messages and used unprofessional phrases such as "so plz sit on chairs at hotel lobby like a boss and wait" and informed us to understand they are operating a business and that's why not drinks are included I'm the package. He also told us to "plz relax". The following day he informed us we had been upgraded to a 'five star' cruise which went to Halong Bay and not Bai Tu Long Bay which is the less touristy and quieter option. The new itinerary couldn't have been more different but if we didn't accept we would get a full refund but it was less than 24 hours before the tour started that we were notified so no chance to look for a different one and get a refund. Our 'upgraded' tour was with aquamarine cruise, the boat decor was very tired, the pictures online were clearly taken when the boat was brand new. The boat was not tidy, unsightly ladders left on the deck, loose electrical cables visible, other bits broken and needing repair. As we were changed to a different tour we didn't see the areas we wanted to see anyway. There is a constant smell of fumes from the old tenders struggling to move people around and keeping their engines roaring. The staff were friendly enough, but all very young and all seemed a bit disorganised. Perhaps due to it being the Chinese new year and the normal crew were on holiday. Despite this, we had good weather on the tour and the views were nice. Many of the boats on the bay looked similar so I expect they all offer a similar service to this one. Quick turnaround of guests and no real time to take care of the boat.

  The boat was lovely and very steady on the water. All staff were a pleasure to be with even though it was Lunar New Years Eve, they were in great spirits and made our trip unforgettable

  This was the best thing we did in our Vietnamese holiday. Halong Bay is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The transfer from Hanoi worked smoothly, the cruise bedrooms were lovely, spacious and with an excellent shower room. We did kayaking, swam in the sea, had a cookery class, did squid fishing (though didn't catch any), Tai Chi at dawn and karaoke in the evening! As well as visiting Trung Trang Cave - which was beautiful. The best bit of the cruise was sitting on the deck, drinking cocktails as the boat moved around Cat Ba Island. All the staff were helpful and attentive to our needs.

  We had a great experience on the overnight Ha Long Cruise with great welcoming staff and a number of actvities that included kayaking, a cooking class and music/dance. We also enjoyed all the meals provided during our stay!

  Unfortunately the weather sucked and there were lots of tourists making it hard to reallly enjoy the area. I still think you should see the sites. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful. The food on the boat was not great but you’re there for the sites not the food. The boat crew were helpful. My son forgot something on the boat which we were unaware of. The crew scrambled to get it to us. I found the booking experience a bit stressful. I didn’t know what I was getting. ( requested 1 bed each for each of my 3 adult children and didn’t know what I what getting until we were in the boat. - they squished them into 1 room with no room in between each bed. It’s one night so it was fine.) We also had trouble figuring out where we had to be to check in. All in all, still a good time
