This tour was an extremely thorough, educational and impactful tour of the Warsaw ghetto. Our guide was knowledgeable and thoughtful and gave meaningful and important context to the history of the ghetto and World War II as a whole. She pointed out and explained important landmarks of the ghetto. She also had a binder with pictures, maps and information to reference at different stops of the tour. I highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Warsaw!

Our guide Marzena was outstanding. She was very knowledgable and was able to provide us with lots of information about the history of Jews in Warsaw, the creation of the ghetto and the Nazi occupation and final solution. We were taken around what was the ghetto which was an area of approx 2 miles. I can’t recommend this tour enough if you want to know more about the treatment of Jews in Warsw right before WWII and during it.

I had Marzena of Polin Tours as my guide on a walking tour of the Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw. She was phenomenal. She is friendly and easy to talk to — but mostly, you should listen to her. Marzena managed to tell the story of the Jewish people in Poland from the Middle Ages through to depicting their vibrant world in Warsaw before the Nazi occupation. She then built the story brick by brick: the incremental decrees the Germans issued which led to the building of the ghetto, the suffering inside the ghetto, the resistance efforts, and the eventual deportation of the people to Treblinka and the systematic leveling of everything that remained. Because the ghetto was so thoroughly destroyed — and because modern Warsaw now hums in that same space — it is essential to have a guide who can tell the story to make the little brick, the plaque, or the memorial stone that you see meaningful. Marzena is that guide.

Marlena was engaging, incredibly knowledgeable and gamely accommodated all of our questions and requests for little detours. She added details and humanity to her lessons that truly brought Warsaw's history to life for us. We finished the tour feeling like we took a university seminar in the history of Warsaw! The tour was 3 hours long but it flew by in what felt like an instant. We can't recommend this tour highly enough!
