5.00The journey out of the city meant we saw the agricultural landscape of the area. The hosts were lovely and the guide through the vineyard and production interesting. The tasting and the foods provided were excellent. Highly recommended

5.00Excellent presentation of the winery provided by sommelier Alejandra, who showed us the wine manufacturing process, from planting to bottling. The tasting was very good, with excellent quality wines. One of the best wines we had in Uruguay! Worth the visit!!

5.00Alejandra and Miguel were exceptional hosts. To be on a tour with the premier winemaker of Uruguay was such a unforgettable experience. Details of vineyard secrets were finally shared with the public and the history of Castillo Viejo now grows wild. It was a once in a lifetime honor to attend this tour. Thank you Alejandra for being a gracious host.

5.00At the entrance, we were welcomed in the winery's garden, which is in front of the experimental vineyard, where we were introduced to several different types of grapes. Alejandra, who welcomed us, explained the grape and wine varieties, showed us how the wines are bottled and where they are aged in the oaks. He also took us to a table where we could feel the different notes that are possible to find in the wine. Finally, we did the tasting in a beautiful room. This is the second winery we visited, but the experience here was much richer than the previous one - I highly recommend it! The driver was recommended by the winery and was also super attentive and waited for the experience to end before taking us back to the hotel.

5.00Had a great experience. 4th generation family owned winery serving some excellent wine. The underground tasting room has a great ambiance. The music, and food enhanced the wine tasting. Friendly people. The young girl, who is from the 4th generation was the only one who spoke English and took us on the tour. She was sweet and friendly. We really enjoyed this place and can’t recommend it enough.

5.00The visit to this winery was a pleasant experience. We were welcomed by the owners of the winery who told us the story since the arrival of their ancestors in the region. The visit to the winery was guided by winemaker Alejandra who did a great job of presenting the internal areas and production. Finally, we had a wonderful lunch washed down with the winery's great wines. Unmissable!!
