Francisco give you all of the historical and geographical information you might want but he tailors everything to his guests’ preferences and interests. He is extremely attentive and thinks of everything, going way beyond the basics. Francisco provides historical and geographic background and loads of pointers on what to see and how to access it. 5.00The Sintra Tour from Lisbon was absolutely outstanding. Our guide, Francisco Basso of Lisbon Daytrip, was a true professional from start to finish. He picked us up right on time at our hotel and, during the drive to Sintra, shared a wealth of insight and history about Portugal, Lisbon, and Sintra that really set the tone for the day. Once in Sintra, we stopped at the famous Piriquita bakery, where we tried an original Travesseiro and a Queijada de Sintra - both were genuinely life-changing. From there, we entered Quinta de Regaleira right at our scheduled time. The Initiation Well, the grounds, and the mansion were absolutely stunning and lived up to the hype. Next, we headed to Pena National Palace. Unfortunately, the weather turned rainy and foggy on the way up, and due to time constraints we weren’t able to tour the interior. This is the one thing I would do differently - either allow more time for the interior visit or plan a return trip specifically for it. We finished the day in Cascais with a wonderful lunch, gelato, and some relaxed shopping. Francisco then dropped us off at Praça do Comércio near the cruise terminal, which was very convenient. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. A private tour is absolutely the way to go, and I can’t recommend Francisco Basso and Lisbon Daytrip highly enough.

5.00Sintra really is a fairy tale! A beautiful castle at the top of the world and palaces everywhere below. We did the Pina Palace and the Regaleira. Cute little town with charm and old world stories at every corner. Francisco’s knowledge of the area and history is so great! Excellent tour in a very comfortable vehicle.

5.00We had an incredible 8-hour private tour to Sintra with Francisco from Lisbon Daytrip. He was professional, punctual, and extremely knowledgeable. Being a local born and raised near Cascais, Francisco gave us a true insider’s view of the region. He customized the day to our interests, taking us to iconic sites like Pena Palace and other locations with breathtaking views. Traveling by private car made everything smooth and relaxing, and his timing helped us avoid crowds at every stop. Moreover, Francisco’s English proficiency was excellent, with only a slight accent, making communication effortless. Throughout our 20-day Europe trip, we had several other tour guides, and many of them had strong accents that made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience. With Francisco, we had no trouble understanding him at all, which added greatly to the quality of the tour. This was by far one of the highlights of our Europe trip. If you're visiting Lisbon and want a stress-free, informative, and memorable day trip to Sintra, Francisco is the guide to book!

Francisco is a great driver and our ride was comfortable. The beauty of Sintra and Cascais made our last full day in Lisbon very special.
