We and our Guides give the world moments that restore humanity and guarantee transformational cultural experiences. How do we do this? We open the door to North Africa so that you can visit meaningful sites related to food and then come and prepare your own meal - home-style cooking as in a Moroccan home - along with bread-baking and our beloved Moroccan mint tea ceremony and preparation. The highlight in all of this is the deep connection and laughter shared with your Experience Leader and her Assistants throughout the duration of the Experience. All this so that the world can engage Morocco's wonderful peoples and the rhythms of Moroccan life.

The Blu Door cooking experience was much more than a cooking class. the food was authentic, local, and really tasty. It was a great experience to cook with a tagine and the local Gues3a mixing and serving bowls. While the food was excellent, what set the apart was the time with the staff, Nouhaila Naila Doha and Nadia, while the meal cooked. First we experienced a Moroccan Tea typically served to guests. The staff provided a great background to the significance of the tea in Moroccan culture and the significance of each ingredient. The staff was also very open to discussions about their lifestyle, work, and home life that really made us feel like we gained an understanding of the culture in an honest, in person way. Overall the best experience we had during a 12 day cruise with 7 different port stops.

What an amazing time! I came with a group from our Semester-at-Sea voyage (on land in Morocco for several days). Our group consensus was:The MOST FUN field program we’ve had! Tangier itself was truly beautiful, and this experience was such a highlight! The women who gave us the cooking lessons and shared cultural understanding with us were fantastic— warm, funny, friendly, open and welcoming ! Do not miss this opportunity if you’re anywhere near Blue Door Cuisine.

Nouhaila, Fadoua, Lina, and Rihab were our precious hostesses. The food they helped us prepare was amazing as well as the personal time spent with them. It was definitely a highlight of our cruise.

Our experience at the Blue Door was truly top notch. The food we learned to prepare was fantastic and the techniques easy enough that I’m sure we will use them when we return home. Even more than the food, though, positive energy, openness and smiles of our hosts Luna, Houda, Nada and Fatima made the experience wonderfully memorable!

From the moment we were greeted to our parting, we were treated with warmth and respect. Our market tour, culminating with a visit to the community oven, was really helpful to understand the structure of daily life in Tangier. The cooking experience was so much more than just the kitchen. We were indulged with a formal tea service and learnt of some Moroccan customs and culture. Once our tagines were ready, we sat down to lunch as a typical family would do, and again had the opportunity to learn more about Moroccan culture from our thoroughly charming hosts. The food was delicious, but the experience was about so much more. We made lamb tagine with prunes and will definitely be trying to replicate this at home. Thanks to our three delightful hosts who were so informative and generous in sharing with us.

We had a lovely cooking demonstration with the Blue Door Kitchen as part of an excursion from Seabourn cruises. I can’t recommend this experience highly enough. The hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful throughout and the tagine and bread we made was delicious. A really fun, hands-on experience!
