Tremont City
Tremont, the historic yet continuously evolving neighborhood, features historic Victorian homes, preserved churches and acclaimed restaurants and bars, with the neighborhood clustered around Lincoln Park. Dating back to 1836, the neighborhood was originally incorporated as part of Ohio City before being annexed by Cleveland after the civil war. For generations, it was an enclave to immigrants from Eastern Europe; their influence can still be seen and felt to this day.

There’s a good bit of walking but it’s well worth it. We enjoy learning the history of areas when we do food tours and this tour did not disappoint. We had three restaurant stops that provided ample servings of local specialties. We certainly didn’t need to make any dinner plans following the tour. And, I tour guide,Barbara Snow, was amazing with a wealth of information about the local area and Cleveland in general. We were a group of four and we all loved the tour and we would all recommend it to everyone.

It is a good amount of food. Barbara was very knowledgeable about food and Cleveland history. Do this early on your trip and go back to visit the other spots mentioned.

Barbra was a fantastic host! She shared her passion for the city and how the food connects to the neighborhood. She made sure to make a personal connection with each one of us on the group of 10! Oh, and the food was fantastic! A great mix of traditional local fare and trendy spots a great day!

We had an amazing experience with Barbara on the Tremont Food Tour in Cleveland! She was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate about the neighborhood’s history and food culture. Every stop was a treat — from the delicious, authentic pierogies to the comforting cabbage rolls, each dish told a story about the rich traditions of the area. Barbara made the tour feel personal and special, sharing so many great insights along the way. You could tell she truly loves what she does, and it made the whole experience even better. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cleveland (or even locals looking for a deeper connection to Tremont)!

Our tour guide Barbara was great, the food was enjoyable, I really enjoyed the last stops food and it was so nice that we got to met the owner, and I was completely full by the time we were finished. The only negative thing was that the tour was supposed to be approx. 3 hours. At 4 hours, some of us had to leave, and it wasn't even done yet. I wish it would have ran on time. I'd still enjoyed the experience!!
