Helena is an exceptional guide and her deep knowledge and engaging storytelling brought the events of December 1805 to life. From the very beginning, she offered detailed explanations of the topography of the region, helping me understand why locations like Žuráň Hill or the Pratzen Heights were crucial to the unfolding of the battle. The tour was very informative and Helena didn't only talk about the generals and emperors, but also about the townspeople who witnessed history unfold around them. At the end of the trip, I had a much better understanding of the events of that day that changed the faith of nations and I am very grateful to Helena for sharing all this knowledge with me. I definitively recommend this tour to history lovers and curious travelers.

Thanks to Guide Helena, it was a very enjoyable tour. It is well-researched in the Battle of Austerlitz, and is organized in such a way that you can visit various local points such as European history and Napoleon's footsteps to gain a systematic understanding. We also received many explanations from the perspective of local history, such as the sentiments of the villagers at the time and the influence after the battle. There is a lot of knowledge that can't be obtained by explaining world history alone, and the museum and local diorama models were very helpful. This tour is recommended for history lovers.

For those Interested in the Battle of Austerlitz I cannot recommend more highly this tour guide. She is Knowledgeable and has knowledge that the normal British or American amateur enthusiast for the battle would not normally have. Her understanding of the topography of the battlefield is excellent. She is personable and friendly. The food in the area is very good. I recommend making use of longer term (14 days) weather forecasts for the area, as it being winter if you are going around the time of the actual battle, the conditions can be variable. I was lucky in matching my visit to a clear crisp and cold day with wonderful views over the area. A fascinating visit all round.

Helena and Marco Polo were brilliant guides on our first trip to Cezch Republic. We were picked up promptly at our hotel in Brno at the arranged time. My brother in law and I have been studying the battle of Austerlitz for many years and couldn’t have asked for a better tour. The tour of Austerlitz and the surrounding area of the battlefield was fantastic,Helena took us to all the most important points (for us) in 1 day and was very knowledgeable about the course of the battle .We could never have taken in so much of the battlefield without Helena’s expertise ,how she managed this including stops for coffee and then lunch was incredible.Helena’s local knowledge of the area and how to navigate this during 1 day was tremendous .We were lucky to have fantastic weather, it was dry and sunny. We stopped at the chateau in Austerlitz which had a fun day going on with music and families enjoying the grounds.Helena arranged for us to visit an area dedicated to military history in miniature which was brilliant , it felt like we had access to a secret part of the building. We visited the Santon and Zuran hills ,the Pratzen heights with a visit to the museum on top which was great , the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We saw hares and some deer in the fields both of which caught the attention of Marco Polo who was a very friendly and alert dog . We stopped at the Goldbach stream at various points something I requested and was very interested in, we stopped at the post station with its wine cellar and stables and for me the with a construction background the incredible sight of copper guttering and rainwater pipes , very unusual in modern times! We then went onto Telnice and finished the tour in Sokolnice with food and a local beer at the micro brewery next to the walled peasantry , afterwards heading back to our hotel in the centre of Brno, with Helena continuing her commentary on the course of the battle on the way back. Fantastic tour highly recommended. Thank you Helena. Willie & Stephen From Scotland

Helena was fabulous. My 18 year old son and I spent the day with her. She was so knowledgeable and easy to be around. We took a train from Vienna and met her near the station.

I've visited a great many battlefields and this was one of the most enjoyable and memorable trips thanks to our splendidly knowledgeable tour guide Helena. From the moment we met Helena (and Marco) at Brno Station she took a great deal of care and effort to make sure we visited all the important sites and included some we would never have known about without her local knowledge. Including a very pleasant lunch at a local brewery. It's only an easy train journey from Prague. So, if you are thinking of visiting Austerlitz then I would highly recommend taking a tour with Helena (and Marco).

Austerlitz has been on my wish list for many years so I was delighted to be able to visit this year. My friend and I are both retired army generals with a deep interest in military history. First thing is that Brno is a great location to stay in with its stunning old town and proximity to the battlefield. Plenty of interest for our wives whilst I was studying. However nothing would have been possible without the simply wonderful Helena. She collected us early morning from our accommodation and dropped us back at the end of a very full day. I had purposefully requested a bespoke visit which maximised time on the ground and minimised tourist attractions like museums. I also wanted to move from the French R flank to the L. Helena was able to meet every request with a smile. Incidentally the ground is simply superb and the key features are unchanged since 1805. If you are going to maximise your visit, a local guide is essential but nobody else except Helena was able to match our requirements. She is a walking encyclopaedia of local knowledge not to mention the small country roads. She has made an ardent study of the 1805 campaign and has many helpful pieces of literature and maps in a large folder. If this all sounds dreadfully serious, Helena ensured that we had sufficient samples of local beer and excellent food to lighten key moments. We were also fortunate to have the additional company of her charming dog Marko. In summary this was quite a brilliant day with a tour guide who is simply the best. Thank you Helena from John and myself.
