Enjoy an amazing truffle hunting with a professional "Trifolao" and his trained dog near Monforte d' Alba. Breathe pure air in a gorgeous wood and enjoy the intense truffle scent. Meet the hunter and his dogs, who are specially trained to sniff out truffles, you’ll have a good chance of tracking down the elusive fungi. Along the way, learn more about truffles and why they are so rare, and pick up expert tips on how to find them. The experience ends with a wine tasting paired with cheese with black truffle, scratched on top.
"The price for the truffle hunting experience does not include the trifulao’s fee. This fee is:
40€ per person for groups of two people
30€ per person for groups of three or more
The fee must be paid in cash directly to the Trifulao on the day of the experience, based on the total number of participants."

What To Expect
Monvino
All tours begin in Monforte d'Alba, where you'll meet your guide. You'll need your own transportation to follow the guide on a 10-minute drive to the forest area and later to the Enoteca. (A transfer service from Monforte is available upon request for an additional fee, with limited spots.) The experience starts with an introduction to truffles, covering their types, growth, and where they can be found. Upon reaching the forest, you'll meet the truffle hunter and his specially trained dogs before starting the hunt. Please note that any truffles found during the hunt are not included in the price. The walk takes place in a wooded area, so comfortable, outdoor-appropriate clothing is recommended, especially during the colder months. If needed, rubber boots will be provided. 5.00What a great experience! Very experienced truffle hunter and dogs, welcoming and knowledgeable interpreter, wine education and tasting was top notch. We found 8 truffles- were able to purchase one and bri g it back for an amazing dinner tonight. Would highly recommend!

5.00The drive to the small town is worth it to do these two separate activities. The truffle hunting is in the forest- you need a car to drive there. It is also not included in the price so you need 30-40 Euros pp cash to pay at the end and more if you want to buy the truffle you find. It was really interesting. Then you drive back to the wine shop for wine tasting. We took the light lunch option which was definitely worth it as we were starving by then and it was not huge but delicious and definitely enough food. Had a great 3.5 hours , even in the drizzle!

1.00A very mediocre display! A truffle seeker who points out where the truffle is and a light lunch that was dramatic. I would advise anyone not to book this "experience". Far too expensive for what's on offer. We really felt cheated, and we weren't the only ones who felt that way. Disgraceful!

5.00Highly recommended! Very nice to experience! We had reserved the booking with light lunch. You got all kinds of small bites from the region including a wine tasting. Much was told by the enthusiastic owner who spoke excellent English.

5.00An absolutely amazing experience. We went in April which was a little wet.. however we still had a great time and found several truffles Later in the year is meant to be the perfect time so we can’t wait to return! The hosts were truely fantastic and we can’t recommend enough
