Live a 3-hour experience on the Parma hills (in Valmozzola) and become a truffle hunter for a day, guided by Flavia and her two truffle dogs.
At the end of the hunt an amazing truffle lunch (or dinner) prepared by Mamma Laura will wait for you, so that you'll also join a Truffle Food Tour (vegetarian and vegan options are also available).
As you arrive you will be welcomed by our truffle dogs Trilli, Maya and Ludo, hard workers and also part of our family!
We'll start the hunting from our truffle farm and continue into the surrounding woods. Immersed in the nature of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines (we are 1 hour drive from the amazing Parma Food Valley, 1 hour drive from La Spezia/Cinque Terre and 1:30 drive from Milan), our dogs will lead you to the truffles, which you'll dig out with your own hands.
Depending on the season, we can find black summer truffles or fall truffles. The truffle hunting can last between an hour and an hour and a half (it will depend on how much we manage to find!) and will end with a lunch (or dinner) depending on the start time. You'll taste our truffles (the very fresh ones you'll find with the dogs) and our homemade truffle products, all freshly cooked by "chef" Laura :)
It will be a one in a lifetime and unforgettable experience with locals, we promise! :)

It's also possible to arrange a pickup service from the railway station Solignano or Berceto upon request for max. 4 people. For more than 4 people please contact us. You need to take a train to Solignano (if you are travelling, for example, from Parma/Modena/Bologna central station) or to Berceto (if you are travelling from La Spezia or Cinque Terre). You can check train timetable from Parma to Solignano or Berceto.
Pickup service is also possible from Parma City Centre at an extra cost.

The location of the exact activity is : Il Borgo del Tartufo - Località Sozzi 6 - 43050 Valmozzola (PR). If you do not have a car you can arrange to pick you up at the nearest train station (Solignano or Berceto) for an extra cost of 50€ or at your hotel in Parma for an extra 130€

5.00What about, Flavia and Laura are exceptional: two wonderful people. It was an unforgettable experience together with Maya and Tinker Bell, two spectacular dogs, looking for truffles. The food is great and you can feel all the love Laura puts into her dishes. If you want to breathe freedom and love into things, this is the place. The apartment was clean and cozy, really cuddly. The love they put into their animals and their work really shows. We leave only 5 stars because more you can not. Thank you very much!

5.00Il Borgo del Tartufo is a family operation set in the Parma Apennines that feels like an invitation into someone’s actual life rather than a staged tourist experience. Flavia leads you into the forest, past wildflower fields and the truffle farm, with her Lagotto Romagnolo dogs Trilli and Maya setting the pace. The dogs know their job, and yours is simple: watch them, follow them, and reward them when they earn it. They move through the woods with focus and obvious joy. When one of them starts digging, you move fast — you want to be there to catch the truffle as it comes out of the mouth, or to carefully help coax it a little deeper from the soil. On our visit the two of them turned up 90 grams between them, which felt like a genuine reward for everyone involved, dogs included. Flavia explains the ecology and the training behind it all as you go, and by the end you understand truffle hunting at a level that will permanently change how you read a menu. The terrain is real Apennine hillside — not a manicured path — so wear actual hiking shoes. The effort is worth it. Then comes the lunch, and this is where the experience becomes something else entirely. Flavia’s mother Laura cooks, and the two of them operate as a seamless team — one who knows the land, one who knows what to do with what it produces. The dishes are built around their truffle products, and the highlight is getting to shave the truffles you found yourself directly onto your meal — a small detail that makes the whole morning suddenly feel very real. It’s generous, unfussy, and genuinely delicious in the way that only happens when a family feeds you rather than serves you. The Parma Apennines sit almost exactly between Parma, Cinque Terre, and Milan — a rare case where a detour genuinely pays off logistically. Book in advance, especially on weekends. 5.00This was definitely a highlight of our two week trip in Italy. The view was amazing, the hunting for truffles was amazing, the dogs were amazing, the hosts were amazing but the food was beyond amazing.

5.00Our truffle-hunting experience with Flavia and her dog Maya & Trilli was one of the most enjoyable parts of our entire trip to Italy. It was fascinating to watch Maya and Trilli in action, and Flavia was incredibly knowledgeable, explaining everything we wanted to know about truffles with patience and enthusiasm. Finding truffles was exciting and made the experience even more memorable. After the hunt, we returned to their home, where Flavia mother *forget mama name 🙈* an incredible chef, prepared truffle dinner paired with local wines. Every dish was delicious, showcasing truffles in a variety of ways. Their hospitality and passion for food and wine were evident, and we thoroughly enjoyed both the meal and the conversation. This was a great experience, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, hands-on introduction to truffle hunting and Italian cuisine. A unique and worthwhile experience! 5.00We stayed at the B&B, had a great breakfast al fresco, then went on the truffle hunt. When we returned we had an excellent lunch waiting for us with home made pasta that we shaved the truffles on from our hunt. The dogs were super cute and the hosts were even better. Highly recommend this as an experience for your vacation in Italy. It was a beautiful nature experience combined with hiking with adorable, hard working dogs. And the hospitality was 10/10. Can’t wait to go back.

5.00Their a friendly family, fresh home cooked food served family style on a large table with the group of people who was on the experience. The truffle hunt lasted for almost 2 hours through the forest 🌳 and grounds we found 10 truffles some very large ones! And was taught all about them and how to spot a fake!!! Some nice produce to buy and take away From the experience, they catered for my gluten and dairy free diet which was a bonus 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 5* experience, I’m sure we will return.

5.00WOW WOW WOW. What an amazing experience, truly a highlight of our Italy Trip. The drive can be a little challenging for inexperienced drivers but the tour does offer pickup service if needed. Flavia is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about truffles. We learned so much during this tour. Laura is an excellent cook and lovely hostess, my only regret is not coming booking her restaurant for another meal with her. We also had an awesome time meeting Maya and Trilli, the truffle hunting dogs. Please go out of your way to attend this tour, you will not regret it.
