We had a few hours to spare before we had to leave Tokyo so I booked this tour at the very last minute and it did not disappoint. Elly was such a lovely guide and took us through the Honganji Temple & Tsukiji Market, shared great stories, and had awesome recommendations on food & snacks around the market. While the market was crowded, she's made navigating through it really easy and has made the whole experience so pleasant with easy conversation. I am still dreaming about the snow crab we had and the dried seafood snacks we brought home. Truly made our 1st day in Japan an amazing experience.

⸻ Elly was a fantastic tour guide! She shared her deep knowledge of Japanese culture and food as someone who grew up in Tokyo, and we really appreciated her unique perspective. She also took us to some of the best sashimi I’ve ever tasted. On top of that, she’s incredibly kind and warm. I highly recommend taking a market tour with Elly!

Our guide was wonderful. A++++, she was kind, incredibly knowledgeable, and we tasted all the things. Do not miss this private tour. She even helped my husband in a custom knife store with translational so he could find the chef’s knife best for our kitchen back home. Highly, highly recommend.

This is a must-book! Elly was so sweet and welcoming, we loved our morning with her! She knows a lot and is very knowledgeable about the area and what the best stands are at the market. We never would have known which stands are the best to try, so we are so grateful we had her. She didn’t steer us wrong once. She makes navigating the market a breeze and will accommodate anything you’re looking for. It’s been one of our favorite parts of the trip :)

We had an amazing morning with Elly. She was knowledgeable, spoke great English, had interesting and fun facts for parents and kids alike. She also had great picks for where to stop for small bites. We tried everything we wanted to, and left happy, full, and grateful to have done a tour instead of walking around on our own. Thank you Elly!

Hands down our favorite experience in Tokyo! Elly expertly navigated us through the busy market, advised delicious foods to try, shared about the history, and answered all our questions about it and Japan, in general. She was sweet, kind, and easy to talk with so the tour flew by. I’m glad we splurged for the private tour, because the foods and conversation was tailored to what most interested us. Don’t miss this tour!

Booking a private tour for our first morning in Japan was the best. Elly was wonderful! Don’t hesitate! A leisurely pace and not only information about the market, but a great resource for so many questions we had. Canadians 55& 66 years old. Our first trip to Japan and Elly set us up for the next 12 days of adventure. Thanks so much!

For anyone looking to get the most out of the Tsukiji Market - both understanding the traditions and eating your way thru every stall, I highly recommend this tour!! Elly was our guide and she was perfect...excellent English, knowledgable, flexible, fun, and just very pleasant to be with for 2+ hours. She will get to know you quickly, and make the tour very relatable, and you will get to know her also. Highly recommend doing the tour in the morning or right before the market closes. Otherwise, it will be very very busy. Most stalls start to close around 1:30p. You can certainly do the market on your own and just point to what you want, but this tour and Elly will make it a lot more fun and probably less stressful. We did the private tour which allowed us to be more efficient in 2 hours, which we definitely recommend, but I'm sure the group tour is great too if you have more time and flexibility.
