Booking a private tour for our first morning in Japan was the best. Elly was wonderful! Don’t hesitate! A leisurely pace and not only information about the market, but a great resource for so many questions we had. Canadians 55& 66 years old. Our first trip to Japan and Elly set us up for the next 12 days of adventure. Thanks so much!

For anyone looking to get the most out of the Tsukiji Market - both understanding the traditions and eating your way thru every stall, I highly recommend this tour!! Elly was our guide and she was perfect...excellent English, knowledgable, flexible, fun, and just very pleasant to be with for 2+ hours. She will get to know you quickly, and make the tour very relatable, and you will get to know her also. Highly recommend doing the tour in the morning or right before the market closes. Otherwise, it will be very very busy. Most stalls start to close around 1:30p. You can certainly do the market on your own and just point to what you want, but this tour and Elly will make it a lot more fun and probably less stressful. We did the private tour which allowed us to be more efficient in 2 hours, which we definitely recommend, but I'm sure the group tour is great too if you have more time and flexibility.

Elly was very communicative prior to our booking. This helped me feel confident and less stressed as we were planning for our trip. She was very informative, answered our questions throughout the tour, ensured we were able to experience what we were hoping to see and taste, and helped us navigate to the best stalls in the market. We would book a tour again with her!

I highly recommend booking this tour. I received a 1.5 week notice that I'd be going to Japan for work, and being my first time, I knew I wanted to see the fish market with a local guide. I also knew I did not want a 10-15 person group tour as they are too rigid with the plans and often take you to the spots that pay them to brign groups to. Elly was easy to coordinate with, including my booking questions and her communications ahead of meeting. We started at the temple by the market, where she took me through the proper way to cleanse before entering, perform the offering of incense, and then we had the opportunity to watch part of a ceremony before heading off to the markets. At the markets, she was able to accommodate my allergies and help navigate the ingredients with the shop workers, which I could not have done in such a busy market on my own. She let me check off a bucket list item of exploring food stalls of Tokyo! She shared great information about the area and various foods and also took pictures of me, which was helpful as a solo traveler. I will definitely book one of Elly's other tours on my next trip to Tokyo. Arigato gozaimasu Elly-san!

Elly was so fun! She had great information and pointed out the real food in the fish market. You could do the tour on your own but we got the real deal with Elly!
