The Tsum Valley, also known as the Hidden Valley a land of monasteries and hamlets with totally Tibetan population lies on the northern part of Manaslu on the Nepal-Tibet border and used to be a restricted area until 2008. Although the region lies within Nepal, the Buddhism influenced region is a world of its own. Traditionally, Tsum used to be a separate area different from both Nepal and Tibet. The Tsum Valley region is still less exposed in comparison to other tourist areas, with relatively virgin and less beaten paths in comparison to the more popular regions. The Tsum people have their own way of family life, which may be quite surprising for many outsiders. All the brothers in the family are married to a single girl, what you may call a practice of polyandry. Compared with other areas, The Tsum Valley and Manaslu area is full of imminent mountains, passes, deep gorges, hamlets, gompas, chortens, and mani walls.

  • We could not be happier

    - Review from Tripadvisor

This was our second Trek organized by Accessible Adventure and we could not be happier with them. They really planned everything for us from the moment we stepped out of the airport. We basically didn't have to think about anything for the entire duration of the trip. The two of us did the Manaslu Trek in 13 days instead of 11 (so it's a little more relaxed) which was no problem to organize beforehand. Together with our guide Mahendra and our porter Kisna we spent two of the most beautiful weeks of our lives in these wonderful mountains. Ascending all the way from basically the valley to the Larke Pass brings you through such a diverse and spectacular scenery, I could have taken a picture every 5 meters (and probably did) Mahendra took such good care of us, always picking out nice lodges along the way and making sure we are happy, healthy and (most importantly) well fed! His knowledge of the area both geographically and culturally really enhanced our trip and we would have him as our guide again in a heartbeat. Kisna was also very friendly, and although we didn't get to talk much (language barrier) we really enjoyed his company and the fruit platter he made for us every evening :) Also special thanks to Hari, the owner of the company and the hotel we stayed at (Kathmandu Home Suite) for taking us to a lovely dinner on our last day, it was really sepcial and the perfect way to end our trip. It is obvious he cares a lot about the customers and is very knowledgable himself. In short: If you want to do any hiking trip in Nepal, I can almost guarantee you will be happy if you book with this company.
