Castelul Corvinilor
Next, we'll make our way to the majestic Corvin Castle, one of Europe's most stunning castles. The castle was originally built by the nobleman Voicu of Hunedoara in the 14th century, but it was later expanded and transformed into a formidable fortress by his son, John Hunyadi. The castle played a significant role in defending the region against the Ottoman Empire, and it was a vital military stronghold for the Kingdom of Hungary. 5.00Had a great time on this tour. George was a fantastic guide - really informative, friendly and attentive. The history of all three places was really interesting - the castle was a particular highlight, so beautiful! Would definitely recommend this tour as a great way to see some of Romania’s famous sights in a day. Thanks again to George - he was brilliant.

3.00As general the trip was ok , the guide George is knowledgeable and provided us a lot of information for the region and for the places we visited. We had however some weird situations during the trip. It looks like the scheduled time is not enough to visit all the announced places. For example - instead of having 2 hours for Alba Fortress /as it is described for the trip/, we had not more then 40 minutes there. I suppose, it happed like this because of the delays we had. For example the road taxes for the vehicle we traveled with were not paid in advance and we had to wait for the payment to be done. We had also some misunderstanding for the payment in the restaurant and we had to spend overtime there to resolve it. The restaurant rejected to split the bill and everybody to pay as per the possibilities and preferences. It should be announced in advance clear, so everybody to be prepared: payment only cash or payment also with card but the bill to be split for everybody or for couples. Nowadays, payment cash is less and less popular and there are many tourists that prefer not to keep cash, especially when the currency is specific for the country only. Anyway, we had to find a way to pay all of us in cash only. These weird situations, I would say, are more cultural differences but as we had organized trip, such situations could be predicted and avoided. Despite everything described, I would give the organizers second chance when I go to Cluj again :)

The places were beautiful and full of history, and everything was very well explained throughout the day. The guide was extremely kind, attentive and friendly, always making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the tour.l also really liked that it was a small group, which made the experience much more personal and relaxed. Overall, a very well organized tour and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Romania.

5.00George was an amazing guide throughout the whole trip! The day tour to Turda Salt Mine, Corvin’s Castle, and Alba Carolina Fortress was very well organized and smooth from start to finish. He explained the history in an interesting and easy-to-understand way, and also made the atmosphere friendly and comfortable during the long drive. I especially appreciated how patient and attentive he was with everyone in the group. Corvin’s Castle was absolutely stunning, and the stories and recommendations he shared made the experience even better. The tour timing was also well planned, giving enough time to explore and take photos without feeling rushed.
