What can I say except how lucky we were to find Iyad! We booked our holiday just one week before flying to Jordan, very much on the fly, and did some heavy YouTube research to get an idea of what to expect. We came across the ‘Tom and Nikki Travel’ vlog, which was so helpful, and that’s where we found Iyad! Before we even met him, he was incredibly responsive on WhatsApp, answering every question and suggesting the perfect itinerary for our six-day trip. He helped us avoid costly mistakes and honestly made us even more excited to visit. I was genuinely looking forward to meeting him. One thing to know is that there are many drivers in Jordan, especially if you’ve ventured in the Facebook groups you'll know this. Iyad is fully licensed and insured to carry foreigners. Yes, it is more of an investment to hire someone properly licensed, but this is not the place to cut corners! We considered renting a car and doing it ourselves, but the stress of navigating, dealing with police checks and staying alert driving while trying to enjoy a holiday just didn’t feel worth it. Once you factor in fuel, insurance and the stress, there really is not much difference. Iyad met us at the airport with a big smile, a spotless car, great air con, clean leather seats and ample space for us and our luggage. A brilliant first impression! From the very beginning he was there to help. I needed to exchange money on arrival and he drove us around town to find the best rates and helped with translation in the shops – we immediately felt looked after. We had booked transport from Amman Airport to our hotel, then to Wadi Rum, then Petra, then the Dead Sea and back to Amman. I expected a simple A to B service. I was so wrong! Iyad stayed in local hotels close to us so if you want to go out in the evenings you can - he happily took us anywhere local at any time. No extra charge! This made exploring in the evenings and going out for dinner so easy and comfortable. We never once opened the Uber app! We also bolted on an extra sightseeing day in Amman at the end which was fantastic. Do not overlook the capital! It is somewhere I will revisit and spend a good 2 to 3 days next time. Iyad always chose the most scenic routes and showed us parts of Jordan we would never have discovered ourselves. We drove along winding mountain roads with views that rivaled New Zealand’s South Island. Absolutely jaw dropping! He took us to the pink lakes, well off the beaten path. We were not sure if we could fit it in, but he made it happen! Ask him anything about the culture, people or history and he will either know the answer or find out for you. With Iyad you are not just booking a driver. You are booking a safe and spotless ride, local knowledge and the kindest, most genuine person. He invited us to tea several times throughout our road trip where we would stop to enjoy the views. He also knows the best photography spots and will gladly take photos for you so that you have memories that will last a lifetime! We were extremely lucky that through my request to meet his family, (and I wasn’t sure if I was overstepping!), we were promptly invited to his home for a traditional Jordanian meal. His family welcomed us so warmly! The food was honestly the best we had in the entire country and the experience of sharing a meal with a local family is something money cannot buy. We wish his wonderful children every success. They are all so talented and it was a pleasure to meet them and his lovely wife. By the end of the trip Iyad had become a dear friend. We still keep in touch and he will always be synonymous with Jordan for us. A long review, but Iyad truly made our holiday. I cannot stress enough how different our experience would have been without him. If you are considering a driver, though his experience is SO much more, do not hesitate! Iyad is your man! Thank you my friend. I hope we will meet again!

We reached out to Iyad following a personal recommendation for our upcoming trip to Jordan and it was categorically THE BEST decision we made for our trip! Whilst we had already an idea of how we wanted to do our trip, discussing this with Iyad prior, he gave us an alternative plan recommendation to minimise our time spent travelling and maximise our time exploring. Having trusted his local knowledge and experience we replanned our trip and not only planned to do the 2 days to Petra and Wadi Rum with him, but asked for a quote to travel the Dead Sea and Jerash with him also. Iyad was more than happy to pull this enhanced itinerary together and presented us with a quote to cover our trip. Our enhanced trip included: - A driving tour of Amman - A day in Petra - A night in Wadi Rum - A visit and night at the Dead Sea - Exploring the Jerash ruins - Finishing back at the airport Iyad was super personable, friendly and it feels more like you are travelling with a family member than someone you have paid to drive you. Instead of the longer drives feeling tedious we spent the time learning from him about the local culture, his family and sharing stories which soon ate the drive time up. Iyad's driving is faultless, a smooth driver who could impart wisdom all whilst being alert enough to predict the odd animal running out into the road so there was no harsh braking (almost like he had a superpower!). He was always checking if we needed more water (ice cold to help us manage the temperatures) and also if we needed to stop for a coffee or a snack. He was also very quick to recognise the sun position and grab a visor out to cover Nikki's window as she was on the side of the sun for a long period of time - attentive about the smallest of details! The car was also super cool with some great air conditioning which really helped after exploring the hot sites. Iyad also explained to us how all tourist drivers have to have certain number plates to identify them and their registration in the window - something more for peace of mind. Whilst we had booked an itinerary, Iyad also asked occasionally if we wanted to see some of his personal hidden gems along the route. Sometimes this meant a small detour down a less direct route but would often lead to a magical moment only a local would know about - something we could almost guarantee you wouldn't see without him. His hidden gems are not only sites, but also restaurants for food and it was some of the best food we ate in Jordan! It is important to note that Iyad's tour doesn't include entry to sights (as historical tours have to be by a licenced historical guide), nor accommodation but reach out to him and he'll give you some fantastic recommendations! From the first message reaching out to Iyad, to the moment we departed Jordan he was the utmost friendly and professional but we soon realised travelling with him, he was more a friend than a driver. If you are reading this and considering it, do it, it'll be the most amazing trip!
