“Ultimate gastro experience” is the name of a new tourist route, imagined as a time travel taking you to less or barely known places with the traditional cuisine of our country. The new route takes visitors to places they would not otherwise visit, and in that way, they are presented with where and what the locals buy, what they eat and how they eat every day, and what they prepare for special occasions.
During the tour, the guide will also tell you more about the history of the city, but with the focus on the local food and the spots that are not necessarily the main tourist zones, but are close to such zones. So, let your senses follow the Sarajevo menu and tackle them with numerous flavorings.

3.00The food selections were interesting but seemed out of order. The tour started with meat dishes at 9:00 AM and chicken vegetable soup at the end. The guide was more of a tour guide and spoke more about sports and the market, and little about the food. He mostly ate separate from the group so food related questions were not encouraged.

5.00We visited a bakery, a coffee shop, 3 different ‘fast food’ restaurants (but not fast food in the western sense) and a baklava shop, Our guide was delightful and fully explained what we were eating, who ran the different establishments and how the food was produce. Even more interesting were the stories she gave us about the traditions around food and coffee, and its place in Bosnian culture, One piece of advice - skip breakfast. By 12:30 I felt I’d had a full day’s worth of food. Highly recommended!

5.00This was a great tour. We learned a lot about the old city of Sarajevo and sampled delicious food that we never would know to order on our own. We were taken to market and restaurants that are primarily used by people who live in the city. There were many stops. We purposely did not eat breakfast because the tour started at 9:00. When the tour ended, around 12:30, we were quite full and only had a small dinner. From Burek to cevapi along with samples of cheese and dried sausage, we ate interesting and great tasting food. Of course, the tour ended with baklava.

5.00Dennis was an amazing guide who showed us all his favourite places where the locals go. We left completely stuffed and feeling like we finally got a true taste of Bosnian cuisine. He was also full of a ton of interesting information and history. This tour is well worth it.

5.00Don’t eat before going a this awesome tour. You get to sample ten delicious different dishes. It was my lunch and dinner. Out of the ten dishes there was only one (fermented corn milk) that I wouldn’t try again but glad I tried it once!

5.00Ilma, our tour guide, was so fun and a great guide. Apparently we were one of the first tourists to book this experience and we absolutely loved trying so many different traditional Bosnia dishes and drinks! We normally get a bit tired on just a history tour so we decided to do a food tour instead which was perfect for us. We still learned a bit of history while eating local food. We even got to visit a local metal craft shop that makes home decorations and other items. We tried burek, cevapi, chicken soup, boza corn drink, handmade meats and cheeses, and other items. We were supposed to also try Bosnian coffee but there was an incidental, rare country-wide power outage so we had fresh juice instead which was very tasty. Overall, I highly recommend this experience and it was certainly a highlight of our trip. Of course, it’s cheaper if you book directly with the tour operator. Thank you so much!! Hvala!
