New Soweto Market
This is not a tourist trap; this is the real, beating heart of Lusaka. We will dive headfirst into the vibrant chaos of one of Southern Africa's largest markets. With your guide Petros leading the way, you will navigate the maze-like alleys with complete confidence and safety. He will introduce you to friendly local vendors, explain the unique fruits and vegetables, and show you the best spots for incredible, authentic photos. This is your chance to witness the true pulse of everyday Zambian life.
This is the emotional highlight of our day. We will time our arrival perfectly for the strict 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM public viewing session at this incredible rescue facility. You will get to witness the unforgettable moment the orphaned baby elephants eagerly rush out for their midday milk feeding. Your guide, Petros, will explain the amazing conservation work being done here to give these gentle giants a second chance at life in the wild.

What an amazing day! This tour packs in a lot of highlights, including some incredible "locals only" types of experiences. Petros is knowledgeable, kind, and very easy to spend an 8-hour day with. We are so happy we booked this experience and will be referring others.

Petrus and Natasha were phenomenal guides, friendly, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable. It was a great glimpse of Lusaka history, culture, and people. This is a great tour for folks who may be intimidated by the city - but value a sense of place and inclusion. Highlights were the market and lunch! Would recommend to others visiting the area.

I did this tour with my partner and it was honestly such a great day. We felt completely safe the whole time, which was really important for us, and everything was just easy and stress free from start to finish. Petros took care of absolutely everything, from driving to navigating the busy areas and organising tickets, so we could just relax and enjoy it. Even in places like Soweto Market, which is pretty bustling with vendors everywhere, we felt comfortable and could properly take it all in. The itinerary is really well put together. You get a bit of everything, local markets, culture, the national museum, and the highlight for us was definitely seeing the baby elephants. Such a special experience. We also loved stopping by the nursery and checking out local crafts. If you’re in Zambia and want a tour where you don’t have to worry about anything, this is such a good option. Perfect for anyone wanting to see a lot in one day without the hassle.

Very nice day visit of Lusaka with Petros and Natasha - no need to take care of anything, they do it all for you! I got to visit the market (and buy locally made peanut butter and round nuts, which I love), see the baby elephants and the white rhinos at the Lusaka national park, eat nshima, visit the musuem and an artsinal village. Thanks a lot to both of you!

The market experience was memorable. You can see where your fast fashion garments of past seasons end up as well as tons of produce, grains, and delicacies like caterpillars. What I most enjoyed, though, was the visit to the National Museum. My guide was knowledgeable and gave me a flavour for living cultural practices.

Petros was an amazing tour guide. He explained everything about the history of Lusaka and Zambia, answered all of my questions, was very friendly, and helped me navigate the city and the culture. Petros even gave me a personal tour of the national museum, explaining everything. The elephant orphanage was a one-of-a-kind experience. I felt that the tour was very comprehensive, and I highly recommend Petros and the tour to anyone visiting Lusaka.
