Our inflatable rafting vessels are modeled after Coast Guard rescue rafts and are safe, extremely agile providing the best platform to experience whales and have a fun ride. Our vessel allows you to be close to the ocean surface. Giving you the feeling of being with the whales in there natural environment. From this vantage point photography captures a unique perspective of looking up at the animals when they breach the surface. Our Captains are trained to find the most surface active, diverse behaviors and best photo scenarios.
All trips from December – April are guaranteed to see whales or you go again for FREE!
We are locally owned and operated since 1982 and every ticket supports our participation in marine research projects and our role as certified first responders to whale entanglements.

Our small group Whale Watching tour is our most popular whale watching tour on Maui. Our fast and safe rafting vessels are low to the water and perfect for close encounters and small groups making every seat a front row seat! Listen to whale songs on our hydrophone and don’t forget your camera for epic photos of our humpback whale friends! There are two options 1.5 hour and 2 gour, please select the tour you are wanting.

Because we are eco-friendly, purified water is available in an igloo style dispenser, not plastic water bottles.

5.00This was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip! The BEST CHOICE we made! It was truly amazing to see whales so close and to learn all about them from our boat captains, who were excellent! This was much better than the catamaran version we went on earlier in the trip! I didn’t get great photos because I was just too much in awe of what I was seeing! The whales swam under and all around our boat though! We have great underwater videos and loved getting to hear the whales while we were onboard the boat! We will definitely be doing this again!!

5.00One of the other Ultimate Whale watching boats signaled to our boat that there were 3-4 inquisitive whales so we headed that direction. The whales hung around for almost an hour. They came right up to the boating- mugging, spy hopping, yellowing, passing under our boat multiple times. It was credible. We saw a lot of whales a couple years ago, but none that came up close to the boat to explore. As we were headed back to the harbor, a baby was breaching multiple times so our guide stopped so we could watch. Incredible trip! This is our 3rd time on Ultimate Whale Watch and Snorkel in 4 years.

5.00We got to see 3-4 humpbacks with couple dolphins too. Guides were knowledgeable and sunset sail was smooth. Would highly recommend this activity :)

5.00We had a great whale watch trip with Captain Mark and First mate Reece! Both are very personable and Reece shared great information about these amazing creatures. We especially enjoyed the "whale mugging". It's so special to have a whale choose to come so close to the boat. Keep in mind that you may get a little wet on this one which is part of the fun. They offer panchos which is nice for keeping phones and cameras dry. We recommend this tour and appreciate when a company is not only respectful of the whales, but making efforts to help them thrive!

5.00Sooo fun! We saw plenty of whales including a mom and her baby. Worth the money. You don’t need to spend more by going out on a bigger boat. The raft was so fun and can move quickly to find the whales.
