Pigeon Valley
Nestled between the towns of Göreme and Uçhisar, Pigeon Valley (Turkish: Güvercinlik Vadisi) is one of Cappadocia’s most scenic and historically rich hiking trails. The valley takes its name from the countless pigeon houses carved into the soft volcanic cliffs. These tiny cave openings were used for centuries by locals who relied on pigeon droppings as a natural fertilizer for their vineyards and fields. The valley offers a tranquil and moderately easy hiking route, stretching approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles), surrounded by fairy chimneys, lush greenery, and bizarre rock formations. The trail is dotted with orchards, vineyards, and remnants of ancient dwellings and churches hidden in the rock faces.

5.00We had an incredible experience on the Green Tour with Voyager Agency in Cappadocia. Our tour guide, Eray, was exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and highly informative. His passion for Cappadocia’s history and culture truly stood out, and he made every stop engaging and meaningful. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and wants his guests to fully understand and appreciate the rich history of the region, especially the fascinating Underground City. A special mention as well to our driver, Hassan, who was kind, professional, and made the journey very comfortable. The drive was smooth and safe throughout the day. From the organization of the tour to the lunch, tea breaks, and every detail in between, everything was seamless and well-planned. The entire experience exceeded our expectations and made our visit to Cappadocia even more memorable. 5.00The tour was led by a guide, a girl with the creative name Cloud. Very interesting information in English and Russian. It was obvious that the guide knew the history of the country, told very interesting, answered all questions in detail. Before going on the excursion we ourselves walked a lot on our own, went around all the nearby locations, wandered around the gorges, so we were mainly interested in the underground city of Derenkuya. And our expectations have been fully met. The experience of this ancient underground structure is amazing. Mountain and gorge lovers will care about Ikhlar Canyon. In general, impressions of the tour and of the guide named Tucha are only positive.

Our guide Emrah was outstanding – very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to everyone in the group. He explained the history and geology in a clear and engaging way. Highly recommended.

5.00It was a very nice day with the trip supervisor, Mr. Younis, and the respected driver, Mr. Hassan. The supervisor was extremely respectful, courteous, and of impeccable character. He spoke several languages, possessed comprehensive historical knowledge, and had experience with hot air balloons and tour guiding. The driver was extremely wonderful, calm, comfortable, and safe, God willing. Overall, today was lovely. My family and I benefited greatly from the information and the beautiful things we bought from the bazaars and tourist attractions. ☺️☺️ I recommend trying it 100%
