Went solo, overcast day with rain periodically but there are indoor rides and lots of shops plus some coverings over the streets in the New York area to shelter from the rain. Not the biggest park, however, still enjoyable. I’m 55 and still love rollercoasters. Rode the Transformers 3-D ride first, which was pretty entertaining. Next, the Battlestar Galactica rollercoaster was on my agenda. I like the digital lockers they provide for your belongings with up to 90-minutes free. But you can extend longer by just switching lockers. I appreciate that the fairgrounds provide a prayer room for Muslims, and lowered sinks for ablutions, very thoughtful and considerate. I was highly disappointed that I could not film with my GoPro on the rollercoasters using my chest harness. I get that the park wants to make money off of photos like on the Mummy ride, however, a chest harness with GoPro properly secured is not at risk of flying off while riding, I would rate this park higher if they changed that policy. Rode both the Human and Cylon rollercoasters, the Cylon has way more turns and loops, worth riding repeatedly. The Mummy ride/rollercoaster was entertaining. The Jurassic Park ride was too short and we got stuck for about 6-7 minutes waiting to get off due to technical difficulties which was uncomfortable but no big issue as it was still raining and I appreciate that the park still allows the rollercoasters to continue operating during the rain when it was safe to do so and not torrential downpour. My only other complaint is I couldn’t ride the dragon rollercoaster in ‘Far, Far, Away’ land due to the fact I am 6’2” and the safety lap restraint would not go down far enough to lock in place because my legs are too long. There should be a height restriction posted for taller people right next to the restriction for shorter people. Other than that, the park would be a nice visit for families with small children. The food options were good for vegetarians, ate at Mel’s Diner and had fries with the vegetable croquettes and was able to sit inside for about an hour and a half during a downpour. Worth a visit for families, rollercoaster thrill-riders may be a little disappointed.
