I searched for tour companies on the Internet. I chose this company due to their responsiveness and thoroughness in answering my questions and arranging for me tours to include destinations I desired. To say I made the right choice in choosing this company would be an understatement. My expectations were met and far exceeded. Our driver was polite and extremely knowledgeable. He showed us and told us about not only our two main attractions but so many more it was amazing. We saw more in one day than I thought possible. Book this company and you will be well satisfied.

Our driver Angelo was amazing. He knew when was the right time to see the key hole so there was no one there when we went. Also, Trevi Fountain was being cleaned when we went the previous day so he made time to go back during this trip. My son was asking about which church was used prior to the Vatican and he showed us. Peter in Chains was breathtaking. Angelo was so knowledgeable about Ancient Rome that I had to record him to try and remember. Also, I gave a suggestion the previous day to improve the tour and that took my suggestion. I could not have been more thrilled with our trip. Oh… and the pyramid. Never knew Rome had a pyramid. Seeing one was on my bucket list and now that is done as well. Thank you for a fabulous trip.

Our driver and guide, Claudio, was charming and knowledgeable. My husband uses a walker, and Claudio made all the stops simple for him. He took his abilities into consideration at every stop, and we went EVERYWHERE!! Also, this was a great value for the money. We saw things we wouldn’t have seen, like the key hole, as well as the big hit list: Trevi Fountain, Navona, Colosseum, Spanish steps, Circus Maximus, and a wonderful overlook, which may have been Gianicolo – Janiculum hill. There were so many sights, I’m sure I’ve forgotten to list many. For each stop, Claudio explained where we were, some great history, as well as a locals point of view. When he had to drop us somewhere, he was quickly back as soon as we texted. I would recommend this tour again and again.

Our Rome excursions were absolutely fantastic! First was Claudio who picked us up from the Cruise ship. We had a problem because the man whose wife died during the time of our cruise, Niel, had been with his wife until her passing at the hospital in Greece. He flew to Rome to join us but was not allowed inside the gate at the pier. So, we left the gangway of the ship to find him. The problem was, there are two gates, and we went to the one he was not at. Claudio, who was waiting for us at the gangway, did come and find us and then helped us find Niel. He really went the extra mile for us in that regard. Then, he extended the time for our excursion to make up for the lost time, taking us to all of the planned sites for that day. We loved it, seeing so many wonderful places and learning about them from him. Claudio made what could have been a lost, difficult day for us a very good day. The second day the driver, Angelo, was equally wonderful. He was at the hotel early and provided a very insightful day of touring and seeing new sites. At the same time, he was very patient with us and allowed us the time we wanted to see each site. Claudio provided us a new Italian restaurant experience with great food and also made it possible for us to see the original McDonalds restaurant in Rome and try out their desert. At the Catacombs and at the Vatican, he taught us a lot first then dropped us off at the place to meet our guides for those two sites, meeting us after each to go on to the next site. Claudio made our visits to those sites rich and informative. The whole day was just marvelous. Finally, the tour guide at the Vatican, Paola, was terrific too! She also took the time needed to teach us and answer all of our questions with such expertise. In addition, she also listened to us and made sure she understood what we were asking, or didn't understand, so she could meet our specific needs. We felt like VIPs being led past the lines and through special doors/passageways to see so much there. None of us knew much about the Vatican other than what we saw in the news about the recent Conclave. So that was an extremely valuable experience for us. All three guides were certainly impressive in terms of their knowledge and expertise plus their customer service. It is hard to imagine that those two days could possibly be any better than they were. We loved the experience and will recommend your company to anyone planning to come to Rome.

We did a tour of Rome with Carlo. He was on time, professional and knew so much about the city. We had a beautiful van, that was clean and had great air conditioning (it was hot). Carlo provided water and charging cords for our phones. Since we have visited Rome before, we were able to explore some of the hidden gems of this beautiful city. I highly recommend Rome Private Excursions and of course, Carlo.

We had already taken 2 outstanding tours with Rome Private Excursions, a night tour with Antonio and an all day with Michael. Since we had some time left in Rome, we signed up for the Unusual Rome Tour. All our tours were perfect and we appreciate how flexible and accommodating Rome Private Excursions was. I had injured my knee just before our trip so we had to cancel our walking tours and change everything to private driven tours. We could not have had a better experience with tours. Our guides, Antonio and Michael were so good negotiating the traffic and the crowds and answering all our questions. Our final tour in Rome was the Unusual Rome hosted by Antonio, who had done our Rome by Night tour the night we arrived in Rome. Oh my goodness. The unusual Rome tour was the best tour of all. Antonio took us to Gianicola park right at noon to get a final view of the city of Rome and watch the canon ceremony. What a treat and almost no tourists! He then went over the sites he had showed us Sunday night, answered many more questions and took us to the catacombs. The highlight was the McDonald’s Restaurant with the glass floor and the Appian Way below it. We were the only people there and knowing we were walking on the actual Appian Way was breathtaking. We wanted to take Antonio and Michael home with us! We highly recommend the private tours with Rome Private Excursions and will use them again on our next trip to Rome.

Upon arriving in Italy, Manny picked us up at our hotel, and drove us up the Appian Way to the catacombs. At the catacombs we had an English speaking guide that explained the ancient burial technique. Then we went to Castel Gandolfo, the summer home of the Pope, where we had free time for lunch and exploring. Ask Manny to show you the surprise at McDonalds.
