We saw several whales and even some seals along the way. The boat was comfortable and well-organized. The free photos were a great bonus. Highly recommend this adventure in Vancouver!

I went whale watching in Vancouver on September 24, 2025. The day before the trip, I received an email saying it would be windier than normal and recommending Gravol for anyone who gets seasick. I immediately called to explain that I get very motion sick and asked if I could cancel due to the conditions. I was told it would be fine and that cancellations weren’t allowed. Unfortunately, the trip was extremely rough — people were bouncing around, and several older guests seemed quite unprepared for how bumpy and uncomfortable it was. I genuinely think this experience needs more transparency about what to expect, especially in windy conditions. Had I known how rough it would be, I never would have gone. If my parents or grandparents had been on that boat, I would have been worried for their safety. This was the worst 6 hours I have experienced personally. I’m giving two stars only because the staff on board were wonderful — kind, attentive, and clearly doing their best despite the conditions. But the company really should communicate more clearly about the risks and realities of the experience so guests can make an informed choice.

My daughter, who had been in Vancouver for two months and I started our whale watching tour quite spontaneously after our first booking was cancelled two days before due to the weather. The weather wasn’t much better in “Raincouver” this time either and so we were really happy that the tour took place anyway. So far everything was as described, drinks free, quite good view from the boat due to the very nice large windows. We saw a wonderful landscape, two humpback whales, seals and cormorants, then we went back a bit early due to the weather. The guidebooks described interesting events provided exciting facts, but only for the guests who were outside and even these could not understand everything although the guidebooks spoke into a microphone. Even the guests who were in the boat heard nothing !!! So we wondered where the loudspeakers should be that would have made the interesting stories accessible to all guests. We would all have been very grateful for further clues, for example, in which direction we were heading and why, especially on the way back... So we could only guess a lot. But we were very pleased that we actually got a voucher for a future ride.

After some hesitation I surrendered to a whale hunt. The reliable appearance and eco-label were decisive. And a long dormant need to see those beautiful animals. And it was a good choice. The ship looked good and the crew certainly . After a short time we saw humpback whales and after a visit to the sea lion rock also killer whales. Beautiful to see these animals cleaving through the water, sometimes almost dance. Really beautiful. The free coffee and photos made a nice encore.
