St Peter’s Basilica & Sistine Chapel are subject to last-minute closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, we're happy to offer customers an extended tour of the Vatican Museums. While we endeavour to tell tour groups ahead of time if there are any planned disruptions to the Basilica's opening hours, this is not always possible and in these cases we are unable to provide refunds or discounts.
On Wednesdays, due to the Papal Audiences, access to St Peter's Basilica is not possible in the morning.

3.00No clear indication where to meet exactly so we missed the guided tour, however they managed to give us the tickets so we were able to enter and walk it by ourselves. My advice is go there with plenty of time as there will be a crowd and it's difficult to find your group tour.

We went on a Wednesday and were not aware that the Basilica would not be part of the tour even though it's in the title of the tour. Sure, we were told we could go back later on our own. But it felt a little like a bait-and-switch. That said, it was an incredibly informative museum tour and despite the tremendous crowds it felt intimate.

5.00We had the best time on this tour. Everything ran on time and was extremely well-organised from start to finish. The museum, chapel and basilica were all breathtakingly beautiful and our tour guide, Paula H, expertly and knowledgeably provided details to accompany all the highlights on offer. A real ‘once in a lifetime’ experience. The skip the line access as part of the tour was a must to avoid queuing for hours! Although this tour was on the expensive side, I would say it was well worth it.

4.00I bought the package to see the Sistine Chapel, Vatican Museum, and St. Peter’s Basilica but there was almost like “fine print” that said the Basilica wasn’t included Wednesday mornings.
