St Peter’s Basilica & Sistine Chapel are subject to last-minute closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, we're happy to offer customers an extended tour of the Vatican Museums. While we endeavour to tell tour groups ahead of time if there are any planned disruptions to the Basilica's opening hours, this is not always possible and in these cases we are unable to provide refunds or discounts.
On Wednesday mornings, access to St. Peter’s Basilica is not included due to the Papal Audience. Entry is only possible after 1:00 PM.
St Peter's Basilica is not accessible on the express tours options
Please be advised that access to St. Peter's Basilica will not be guaranteed unless the names of all participants in the booking are provided in advance. This requirement is essential for security and the Venue organizational purposes. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable visit.
Please note that if you choose the “St. Peter's Basilica Tour Only” option, access to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel will not be included.

5.00We loved our tour of the Vatican! It is a truly special place, that we were fortunate enough to experience. Silvia was an incredible tour guide. She was super knowledgeable, and she provided us great information throughout the whole tour. She also welcomed and answered all of our questions. She was very easy to understand, and she talked at a great speed. As the Vatican is super grand and there is so much to take in, her knowledge helped us navigate and understand what we were seeing. It truly felt like an immersive experience. Most importantly Silvia was incredibly kind and sweet.

5.00This is a good tour if you just want the highlights of the Vatican and someone to answer questions. It was very crowded the day we went so it was a challenge to follow and hear, but that was not the fault of our tour guide or Viator. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We asked a lot of questions and he did a good job answering them! :) You have to pay attention to keep up, so if you are more of a lingering type you might want to just do your own research. St. Peter’s basilica is overwhelming, so you will likely get distracted by the beauty and then miss what was being said or at least I did Lol! We did have time at the end to just walk around as long as we wanted by ourselves so that was great. Overall a very good experience for a quick and smooth entrance into the basilica and a nice overview with a knowledgeable guide! I definitely recommend. :)

5.00This was a great tour. Even though you have to keep moving through the Vatican Museums, our guide Valerio managed to point out so many interesting things and he was extremely knowledgeable. He gave us a big talk before entering the Sistine Chapel so that we knew where to look for important pieces and what different depictions meant. Would highly recommend this tour and especially Valerio.

4.00Ali out tour guide was so helpful in understanding what we were seeing. She went out of her way to show us things to make up for it being Wednesday and not getting a guided tour of the basilica. However, if I had known that, I would have booked my tour on Thursday. I physically could not wait in that long line to see it on my own.
