St Peter’s Basilica & Sistine Chapel are subject to last-minute closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, we're happy to offer customers an extended tour of the Vatican Museums. While we endeavour to tell tour groups ahead of time if there are any planned disruptions to the Basilica's opening hours, this is not always possible and in these cases we are unable to provide refunds or discounts.
On Wednesdays, due to the Papal Audiences, access to St Peter's Basilica is not possible in the morning.
St Peter's Basilica is not accessible on the express tours options

1.00Be very wary of Viator. I purchased our tour of the Colosseum months in advance for my daughters visiting Rome for the first time. The morning of the tour staff tells them voucher doesn’t work. No entry. No tour. But here’s a refund. Viator did not forward the names and voucher to tour company running the tour. Horrible experience. Don’t use.

Great at leading us to incredible spots in the Vatican and also providing amazing and detailed background information on each piece. He made sure we got into great spots for photos at each location.
