Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute
Santa Maria della Salute (or Salute Church or simply La Salute) is a basilica in Venice erected in the area of Punta della Dogana, from where it stands out in the panorama of St. Mark's Basin and the Grand Canal. Designed by Baldassare Longhena with attention to Palladio's models, it is one of the best expressions of Venetian Baroque architecture. Its construction represents an ex voto to the Madonna by Venetians for deliverance from the Plague that decimated the population between 1630 and 1631. The cult became so deeply rooted in Venice that the Virgin Mary was added to the list of patron saints of the city of Venice.
Abbazia di San Giorgio Maggiore
The Island of San Giorgio Maggiore is a small island, located opposite St. Mark's Square in Venice. Separated from the island of Giudecca by the small canale della Grazia, it is also washed by the Giudecca Canal, the San Marco Basin, the San Marco Canal, and, to the south, the lagoon; it is part of the sestiere of San Marco.

On this boat tour, we saw unique views of Venice and other islands while in a traditional boat with about 8 other passengers. We were served Prosecco as we sailed around the lagoon just before sunset (we sailed on the 5-7 pm tour on September 5th ). The Venice Sunset Tour was very pleasant, it would have been better with a 5:30 or 6pm departure in order to see the sunset.

Though we had some rain on our tour, Leonardo provided umbrellas and he kept the Prosecco flowing. 🙂 Leonardo explained the areas we were seeing and my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Great job, Leonardo and the Barazzo boat team!!

My daughter was planning to go to Venice to enjoy this excursion with her husband on their honeymoon; but unfortunately, their train to Venice was cancelled that morning and they were unable to get there. The vendor has a strict cancellation policy, and sadly, even under these extenuating circumstances, chose not to refund the funds paid.

Leonardo was amazing! He took us on an incredible tour of the island by boat sharing tons of fun and interesting facts with us throughout the entire tour! He also made sure our Prosecco glasses were always full! Highly recommend this cruise for a unique way to explore Venice

Prosecco was unlimited but the tour itself was shorter than expected (originally it had said 2 hours, but the total trip was less than that) and we did not watch the sunset on the water (we docked right before). However, it was still a nice way to see Venice and learn about its history, and our skipper Leo was very nice and knowledgeable.

Such a wonderful experience! Our boat, skippered by Tommaso, was such a unique time. He gave us insights into the history of Venice, only as a local could do! He was willing to change the time of our excursion to accommodate for much better weather. Loved it!
