Palace of Versailles

5.00A driver and knowledgeable, personal guide made our Versailles trip top notch. Gerardo knew so much about French history, kings, their courts, and the build up of Versailles! He gave us fascinating info and had a great sense of humor too. Seeing the Kings’ private rooms was really special- something I’ll never forget. He took us on an in-depth tour of the grounds, fountains, Petite Palais and Marie Antoinette’s farmstead as well. I can’t emphasize enough how fantastic this private tour was! Don’t miss the opportunity to spend time seeing and learning, instead of waiting in line.

5.00I would recommend Paris to Versailles tour company without any hesitation. Ask for Monty as your tour guide. The entire experience exceeded expectations. For a half day tour, we had 3 hours at the Palace and Gardens. Communication, price, promptness were all excellent. Monty was excellent. He knew the timing of the fountains so we could tour the gardens without being rushed. He knew the best places to take pictures. We avoided all the very long lines. Excellent description of Versailles palace, the royalty, Napoleon, and back stories. I would use the tour operator and Monty as guide again.

5.00We took the Hidden Gems private tour from Paris to Versailles recently and had a marvelous time. Lorenzo was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. It started with the pickup from our hotel when, on the drive to Versailles, Lorenzo provided the historical background to the founding of the palace and the political realities of the time. Having a private tour meant there was never a time when we were jostling for position to hear his commentary or trying to walk fast enough to keep up with everyone. Versailles is huge and there is a lot of walking to see this spectacular site. My wife was concerned with the amount of walking as she had injured her back recently and wasn’t sure how much she would be able to do… but Lorenzo set a very easy pace, and provided all the interesting facts and history behind Versailles so we had a much better experience than we could have gotten out of a book or audio tour. For us the value came from the personalization of the tour and the knowledge that Lorenzo was able to pass along. I highly recommend this tour.
