You will experience a way of life long since forgotten in the modern world. Zimbabwean culture is extremely rich and valuable and to a glimpse of it, you may have to participate in daily tasks at the Village and offering a helping hand to the natives so as to get a real feel of traditional village life. You will be picked up from your lodge/hotel for a journey heading towards an authentic rural village, that is approximately 25 kilometers away from Victoria Falls town. Get ready to be amazed as you enter an alternate world where tradition, and local customs are still retained as it has for centuries. The tour will give you an understanding of how many Zimbabweans still live to the present day, a way of living free of modern-day struggles but not without its own challenges. You are additionally allowed to bring presents for the villagers, for example, stationery, garments, sweets, or anything that you feel might be valuable to them.

This was an exceptional opportunity to see life in Zimbabwe beyond the beautiful Victoria Falls. The charm and innate pride the family felt for their farm and the members of their extended family was heartwarming. Although without running water or electricity they were happier than those of us who have so much more. It reminded me of how our not too remote ancestors lived and yet were happy and content.

This is something that everyone should do when visiting this region of Africa. To see how the people live in the villages made such an impression on me…Americans are so privileged to have electricity, running water, abundant varieties of food and free schooling. The family who welcomed us to their village was so gracious to share their culture and lifestyle.

This is not a village tour, you meet one family slightly out of town. What is interesting is that it seems this is the only family being visited which is evident by looking at the pictures on the activity and traveller's activities. They live on a piece of land with a few rondavels, the visit seems a bit staged where the homestead doesnt really "looked lived in" especially the kitchen. You pay for the activity, you provide the family with a token of appreciation, you are taken to a school and provide a donation there as well. All in all it is an expensive activity when you combine donations and activity fee. The highlight is the family is welcoming, the lady talks about how a typical day is spent and some cultural traditions which is interesting.

Loved sitting chatting with the head of the family and learning about family life in Zimbabwe. This trip is a real window on a different life, the positives and the very real difficulties such as crop failure.

It is very expensive comparing with what you do. They say a bottle of water is included but they don't give us. The duration is not 3 hours, but 1 hour as much. I expect part of the money goes to the rural family, cause there were very friendly

This was an amazing experience! We loved this little village and the family we got to meet. It was humbling to see how little they have especially comparing to all we have. There were smiles and laughter and it was very educational. If you have money, candy, books etc to leave behind. It is very appreciated.

An excellent way to explore real Zimbabwe culture and rural life. We visited a local families home and the village school. We chatted with the locals, teachers and kids. A really valuable experience for all family members. Highly recommend this!!!
