The visit to the Frantoio Rosso Ipogeo gives the feeling of traveling through time: first when Puglia was submerged by the sea until the last century, when olive oil was produced.
The route starts from the observation of marine fossils embedded in the limestone rock, and goes through the late medieval centuries when lampante oil was produced and exported to Europe.
It will include the production phases and equipment used at the time, and then conclude with the last period of the mill, when the production from lamps and lampante oil was transformed into edible oil.

5.00So much more than we expected! We appreciated the owner's hard work and research to restore this underground oil mill into a museum. We especially enjoyed his passion for sharing the history with others. The olive oil tasting experience was educational and so delicious!

Let yourself be transported by the words of Giuseppe and Samantha in a hidden world that smells of truth and sacrifice and the final tasting teaches us to understand and recognize the different characteristics of 'oil. An immersive experience not to be missed. Thank you. It was a pleasure.
