  • Great 24 hour experience

We chose this 24 hour tour due to limited time in Bolivia and although it felt chaotic, all the details outlined in the summary of itinerary were fulfilled. Joker Tours staff is on top of everything and ensures that you’re oriented with respect to all next steps. Even the overnight bus (Bus Cama) was more comfortable than I’d imagined but if you don’t like riding on buses then this is not for you. Also note, some of the itinerary while at the Salt Flats may change due to weather, capacity etc but, in the end, spending about 5 hours on the flats is unmatched.

I picked this tour because it worked perfectly with the time I had available, and the reviews I read for Joker Expedition, Bolivia were glowing. I could not be happier with the experience!! I purchased two tickets for myself and a friend - we had an outstanding guide, Jeaneth Menchaca and drive who spoiled and doted on the two of us the entire day. We saw all the usual sights in the tour, the train graveyard; a salt mill and learned about how salt is harvested, processed, and used (even to build furnature, or walls, etc); Isla Incanhuasi (Cactus); Nice 'secluded lunch' on the salt flats - so memorable; taking all the fun photos with dinos, etc; sharing a bottle of wine and anacks while watching the sun set - we were fortunate to be able to drive to an area that had standing water for more amazing photos of reflections - boots were provided for walking in the walter. We felt no rush from our guide - she went out of her way to make sure we didn't feel hurried. Pacing was very good. She is an excellent ambassador of her country - she was a perfect match for us. Highly highly recommend! So worth it. My only recommendation would be to do a four day tour to see and experience more. This experience was a teaser as there is so much more to Bolivia to see and experience.

  • Pickup and return comms could be better. Great guide. Amazing day

We had a great guide and an amazing day. However pickup and return communications could have been better. We were picked up from out hotel at the set time and taken to the counter of a bus company in a large noisy bus terminal. The driver told us he would meet us there at 9:15AM in two days. We then had to wait around for another 1hr 45min before we could board. We would rather have waited at the hotel. The overnight bus ride was bumpy and noisy. thankfully I had earplugs and an eye mask so was able to get some sleep. We were collected at the bust terminal and taken by car to a lovely hotel for breakfast but there was another 3 hour wait before our tour would begin. Our Guide and driver arrived 30min earliere than expected which was a big relief. From there the day was amazing. They came with a large Lexus 4WD which had all the creature comforts. They took us to see some local sights. We did not get taken to any unnecessary souvenir straps that so many tours seem to take you to. Lunch on the salt flats was in an amazing isolated bay of an island away from other tour groups and we had plenty of time to take photos and play with the effects that can only be done on such a vast white canvas. Our guide had a wealth of knowledge of indigenous tradition and legend. Sunset was incredible. The bus ride back to to La Paz was much the same as the ride there. We arrived early (6AM) and since our driver would not be picking us up for another three hours, and did not respond to WhatsApp we decided to Uber back to the hotel (not expensive) instead.

Oscar was a fun, energetic and knowledgeable guide. His passion for the Uyuni salt flats showed and he made our trip memorable with lots of great photos. Chris was a great driver and clearly knew his way around the flats. Thank you both for a fantastic memory. The day was planned well and we got the most out of our 1 day tour

This has been a fairly complicated tour to organize, and these guys did a fantastic job! I would give 6 stars, a must do trip!
