Short story. My wife booked this as a gift for me and our adult children. TripAdvisor sent an email with what APPEARED to be a link to further information, but the link did not work. I copied and pasted; no dice. It was the morning of our booking, and I had no idea where to go. I first followed Apple Maps to Try Scuba’s location, but that proved to be on a busy street outside a mall. Not the right spot. The TripAdvisor email did not include contact info, so I looked up Try Scuba online. There were no directions there, either. I called the number and was told that the directions were in the email … which again, they were not. However, she mentioned Magic Island, so we hoofed it over there. We arrived 15 minutes after our booking, and the instructors had reasonably started without us. I walked the team leader, John, through the issues with the nonfunctional link and the resulting complete lack of information. I requested a refund. John called the home office to discuss and argued that my wife COULD have made better notes when she booked. And if she had been there, she COULD have called up the booking on her TripAdvisor account. None of that helped, though, without a functioning crystal ball. Try Scuba would have rebooked us (at an additional $35 per person) but it was our last day in Hawaii on a trip we waited six years to take. Try Scuba suggested that we take our refund request to TripAdvisor, but definitely would not be making a refund. I see the real problem as the nonfunctional link in TripAdvisor’s email … but I believe that should be between Try Scuba and TripAdvisor, which have their own deal in which each got paid despite the fact that I was provided zero functional directions to the location by TripAdvisor. I am supremely disappointed, and I will not use either service again.

Nick is a great guide. Our group wasn't comfortable with swimming and he was super helpful with us. He made us comfortable under water first and then was very patient with us throughout. Highly recommend it :)

I just had the a amazing experience with my first beginner’s scuba dive! If you’ve ever been nervous about trying it, this is the place to go. I want to give a shout-out to Nicholas. He was incredibly professional and made sure I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. His instructions were crystal clear, and his friendly attitude really helped calm my nerves before getting into the water. While underwater, Nicholas was extremely attentive, constantly checking in on me and making sure I was having a great time. It was an amazing experience that I can’t recommend highly enough.
