Fantastic tour with many off the beaten path sites. We were so glad that we did this, as we would have never gotten some of the history and sites included on this tour. Our group had a great time with the cooking class and loved what we made!

We had a fantastic afternoon with our guide Kata discussing Austro-Hungarian history and influence on today's cooking at the Parliament and Central Market Hall. She picked out small local plums and sauerkraut with us before heading to the cooking instruction room near Budapest-Kelepi rail station where we cooked a version of Hungarian goulash in the same style her family would make at home, then made a poppyseed plum dumpling dessert. We will certainly try both recipes at home! Kata was willing to work with us on start time for the tour, handled all the travel logistics, and was very informative and kind. She sprinkled in plenty of other information about influences from other time periods such as the ottomans as well. We will certainly take another tour with her when we get back! It was a great way to experience some Hungarian food and culture!

I would really recommend the thematical tours organised by Kata, they give the opportunity to have a deeper look into different parts of the rich Hungarian history, also from a gastronomical point of view. We participated on the Ottoman footsteps tour. After visiting the more hundred years old, beautiful buildings and spa's built by the Ottomans, we prepared tipical Hungarian dishes which arrived to Hungary by the Turkish invadors. We finished our program with a lovely dinner, eating the delicious 'toltott paprika' and a desser with poppisead and drinking tasty wine from Hungary. The tour of Kata was the most interesting and exciting activity during our holidays in Budapest.
